John(Blind Squirrel),
I too, actually agree with everything you said. The problem is your getting all your information from the misguided posters and their opinions on this thread.
Here are some facts.

Fact: Chris Facione DOES NOT invite 16/17 year old girls over to his house to hang out and watch movies. The young women the TNL parent was referring to are former TNL players that have either graduated college or are in college and are home on break. They are all over the age of 20 and are friends of his. Oh, by the way, they are also part of our summer coaching staff.

Fact: Yes, the alleged victim did go over to his house, but to pick up a college application, on her way to a hitting lesson. Yes, he did invite her in(wrong decision, absolutely). She met his two roommates(who were home, according to her), pick up the application and was on her way. There were 2 text messages on her phone that corroborated this. One at 4:39 and one at 4:50(both that she replied to). The one at 4:39 was from Carlsbad(where Chris lives), the second one from Vista(6 miles away). This is the time frame that the alleged crime took place. Now some of you might think this was still enough time, remember is was alleged to be consensual. Come on people, if it smells like a turd-blah, blah , blah.

Fact: Chris has a girlfriend and has been with her for over two years. By the way
she's over 40(41 I believe), but it shouldn't be anyone's business on here.

There is plenty of dirt on this alleged victim and the reasons she might have wanted to accuse him, but it's not my place to discuss it here on this blog.

We at TNL have put in place a code of conduct and a no tolerance policy that every coach must abide by. We just want to get back to playing softball. I know everyone is in titled to their opinions, but you shouldn't take it out on the 60 young girls in our organization. They just want to learn and play softball.

If anyone has any concerns feel free to call or email me.

Several players from the team testified as to the type and frequency of text messages they exchanged with the coach. Nothing incriminating... The victim's statements regarding the type of text messages she received from the coach are suspect - her credibility as a witness was blown wide open on the witness stand.

Is it a good idea for (minor age) players to visit the coach at his home to hang out, watch movies and shoot the shit? No, not really. If only because it opens up the possibility of the coach being accused of inappropriate behavior.... But, again, the TNL family is different than most other softball clubs - the players - primarily the older ones that had played together for years - and the coach were a tight group. The parents knew about the girls visiting the coach and were OK with it - in my case - I dropped off and picked up my daughter from his house on many occasions before she got her drivers license...

Gee, I wonder who's got it right. The parent making a statement against his own interest or the coach trying to protect the reputation of his organization? Hmmmm....tough one.

Text that make coach look innocent, good evidence.
Text that make coach look guilty, someone else used his phone, Phone Company deleted content. Convenient.

Skarp-the only thing I'm trying to protect is the interest these 60 girls in our organization have for the love of softball and all they want is to continue playing. I have no ties here outside of them. I don't have a daughter in the organization, I don't get paid to coach here. I have been here 4 years and just enjoy it.

All I was trying to get accross is, if your hosting a friendly or a tournament, don't base your decision on letting us play from what you read on here. If have concerns call me.

If you think he did it-good for you , but don't take it out on our girls.

Jerry

anonlooker-your not very funny-remember that's just my opionon and there were some funny posts on here that I even laughed at(no anonlooker-not posts from TNL parents-get your fingers off the keyboard)

If the coaching staff and TNL board are only concerned for the 60 girls in their organization, then I can't see why they would stay associated with CF. Whether right or wrong, this association hurts the girls. Lay low, reorganize, cut ties with the old, and perhaps a name change for the organization would help them get past this hurdle...if it truly is for the girls.

If TNL disbands because of this, I need a 14U pitcher. Come play for the best looking coach in SoCal. Tryouts will be held at my house. Over dinner.
No, I really do need a pitcher!

Wow - I have read this thread off and on - it seems alot of you just want TNL out of the way? And we have to admit, that would free up a load of talent.

But, the Coach who spoke up seems genuinely concerned about the girls who have remained in the organization. Who else should his priority be? From the statements he has made, he seems to have taken a very active role in evaluating the facts.

And since they have a board in place and coaches with no children on the team, it stands to sense the organization has had numerous meetings and votes regarding policies and procedures going forward. They are probably NOW a cleaner house with less abuse of policies/parent politics going on (as opposed to training).

Why not just let the matter drop and play ball? The girls seem game . . .
