Demands of an Adidas Futures Coach

I may be off but, I was told that they may only take 5 players from their TB team.
Was told last years event had too many coaches just bringing in their entire team and a rule change was made.

Adidas site does indeed say that half the team (minimum of 5) must be from a team other than the coach's travel ball team. I guess we'll see how that plays out.

Where does this end. It seems pretty unethical to use your position as a Adidas futures coach
to influence player's to play for your travel ball team. It's bad enough you have to deal with dumb high school coaches who will tell player's that travel ball is secondary to high school. High school ball is starting earlier every year and conflicting with travel ball schedules and now when you need your team together at the most important time of the year you now have to deal with the Adidas futures. I hate to be a Dictator but I guess from here on out I am going to have to prohibit player's from participating in the Futures.

I think coaches using a power play move is lame, just needed to throw that out there.

As far as why someone would play in this event. Just a couple off the top of my head..while it may not be attended by 300 coaches, there will be some there. In which case, players will be seen. Another reason, maybe there are players from teams that are not getting out to exposure events, or their team isn't good enough to be on the main fields. This would be a great way to at least be seen by the coaches that are in attendance.

My daughter has not partcipated in this event so I am not endorsing the event. I just wanted to give a reason or two as to why one would consider playing in the event.

Simple solution. Don't participte in this event.
It is not a big draw of college coaches, the games were played at ridiculous times, it's in an out of the way location, and conflicts with your regular travel teams activities.
Tell me again why anyone would do this?

As the kid gets older, parents do crazy sh*t to get them seen. If one kid gets picked up that maybe didn't have anything going for them, that makes it a great deal for them, right?

The Adidas Last Chance Tourney, where it's never too late to get offers from the Utah Community College of your choice. Boo yah!

After hearing about last year's tournament from people who did participate, I'd like to thank the coach for releasing her. I know we ended up saving both time & money.

But the way he handled it, not so nice...........

Go to the Adidas website and look at the kids who are "alumni" and look at how many signed......that should be a good indication for you.

c@#p.Too much going on.It is very overwelming for the girls and the parents.Like I said before,the colleges need to back off.With them looking at freshman as well as younger girls,someone is always going to start up a new tournament.I need to get into this action.
