TNL Coach Released - Mistrial Declared

What's on your mind?

by SoftballSucka » Wed Sep 10, 2008 3:34 pm

Did you really just say that he accompanied girls on recruiting trips and parents were ok with their daughters being at his house alone with him??

If only because it opens up the possibility of the coach being accused of inappropriate behavior.... But, again, the TNL family is different than most other softball clubs - the players - primarily the older ones that had played together for years - and the coach were a tight group. The parents knew about the girls visiting the coach and were OK with it - in my case - I dropped off and picked up my daughter from his house on many occasions before she got her drivers license...

GDad, you really need to step back and take another look. If I have ever heard of someone who is so close to the trees that they cant see the forest, its you guys. What you are doing is dangerous, it doesnt matter who the guy is.

The coach is a longtime personal friend of mine, and if my wife and didn't have complete confidence in his character, we would have not allowed it.... My kid has turned out just fine - All-Conference in college, leads her team in many offensive categories, All-Conference Academic as well plus made the Dean's list.

Oh, she also found time to be supenoaed and travel from out of state to testify in the trial, and she was pleased to do so to help her former coach and friend receive justice.

Again, our team was very close-knit, and the parents of the older parents had no issues with the coach or their daughters spending time with him. Most of the time, there would 2, 3 or more players hanging out watching movies, having pizza. Often times after practice.

Do the tnl wives hang out alone with the coaches and watch movies? My wife just left me, so if so, I would like to submit my resume.

And originally, the newspaper ran pictures of a town home, where the bedrooms were upstairs. Did she describe the bedroom?

Nope. No medical evidence of any kind was presented. If this was your daughter and you found out she had sexual intercourse for the first time (which the victim later admitted in court she lied - repeatedly - about being a virgin), especially with an adult, would you not want her to medically examined and checked for STD's?

When she told her boyfriend - finally - about supposedly having sex with the coach - the boyfriend apparently had no concern about getting checked out himself or suggesting to her she get tested.

The STD story was the justification for the "pretext call" dreamed up by the Police Detective, to help explain why the victim had not been in contact with the coach for so long...

And, yes, in the coach's new home, the bedrooms are upstairs. His bedroom is also where his office for the team is located, his computer and all the team files and records. At the time of the victim's one and only visit - which was very brief - both the defendant's adult roommates, one female and one male - were present in the home and met the player....

I feel real sad when I hear parents who support a situation that gives up their parental right to another person. Especially a person who does not have professional training in the correct mechanics of assisting a young person with personal problems. All evidence shows that people who pray on the young use the same methods as to how he performed here. He may have found out the some kids where a little more strong minded and did not pursue them. And he finally found the one who was not as strong mentally and took advantage. I am sorry that the justice system failed in this instance.

The good news is he is leaving here and the sad news he is going across the country and possibly continue what he started here.

My daughter (AKA tres) didn't play for TNL for all the age groups just 18 gold summer after returning from an injury. My daughter traveled alone with the team and I trust Chris and the other families 100%. Out of all the coaches my daughter played for both good and bad TNL was one of the best experiences she and I had. I know Gdad and his daughter and they are great people. The TNL family accepted me and my daughter like family. Everyone has to make their own decisions about what is right for their daughter but for mine TNL was a great experience. Say what you want but I spend time every week working with sexual perpetrators as part of a court ordered program called Parents United and hear the stories and the excuses and I still trust Chris. I have also worked for over 30 years with the victims. Can we all let this go as the courts did.

Sam and DonnieS

Isn't it amazing how stupid some people are? All the signs are there ... they have been pointed out numerous times. Facione went out and hired the best defense team that money could buy, probably thanks to a member of the TNL "family". I would estimate that between 50k and 100K was spent to buy Facione's freedom. Two full time lawyers and one full time Private Investigator. The female lawyer ( the attack dog ) is very well known for doing what she does best, attacking with a vengeance. The Detective barely stood up to her. The victim had no chance. She did her job. She created reasonable doubt.
So now the TNL family is rejoicing that their leader has been found not guilty. But wait, he hasn't been found not guilty. It was a hung jury. The prosecution could try to prosecute again. The attack dog lawyer said so herself, but it is unlikely. The prosecution did not do a very good job. The defense did a great job. Maybe Chris learned a lesson from all this. Maybe he will change his ways. I doubt it.
After all, it is ok to promote the girls in his organization to text him with all their problems, right? After all, it is ok to tell the girls to come over to his house anytime so he can help them with life's problems, right? The problem is, Chris wants to be all these girls "daddies". Parents - wake up. How can you not see the problem with all this?

Whether or not Facione is innocent, you guys are absolute fools for placing that kind of trust in him...and even worse fools for betting your kids on it.

Why if he is innocent?

Is that a serious question, or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Why is it foolish to allow your teenage daughter to hang out unsupervised for hours on end with a single, 30-something man (who incidentally is in a position of influence and authority over her)? Gee, let me think.

That organization is starting to sound like a complete train wreck.
