TNL Coach Released - Mistrial Declared

What's on your mind?

by Getagrip55 » Tue Sep 09, 2008 1:49 pm

The taped "STD" phonecalls (there were 2) were played in the courtroom. Guess they weren't that damaging??? It was mostly the coach saying "why are you saying that?" "stop saying that" and there is no mention of a sexual relationship.
The text was about practice, I've missed you at practice. She stopped showing up with no explanation until the nasty email she sent. Hardly unusual. As for the dinner thing, that had to do with her texting the coach constantly saying her parents were getting divorced and her life was falling apart. (Turns out she was lying about that too!) He offered to sit and talk with her as a coach and mentor. A lot of the girls go to the coaches with their problems and they care about the kids and try to help them through stuff. Apparently that's a crime now!
Sam-Ridiculous, you know nothing of which you speak.

...and yet.....4 people still think he had sex with her at his home on October 7th last year....how do you know the context of the text messages if they weren't brought up in open court?????

It can turn into a crime though can't it!?!? Unfortunately, this is how Chris got into the situation he is in!! ANY coach should not put themselves into that situation. If a meeting needs to happen, it needs to happen with a parent around or at a practice with the whole team around.

I was not in the courtroom to witness what happened. There is so much coming out from the people that were there, and unfortunately, seems that the poor girl did lie!! Would I trust my child with this coach, maybe not, but that is only my opinion. Do I think he is innocent, from what I am hearing, yes, but he should have never allowed himself to get into that situation.

My dd is 18u now and I will still go with her to her traveling tournaments and to her games (mostly because I love to watch my girls play). I won't be able to protect my girls all the time, but I hope that I can at least get the to think about what they do or what can happen.

I really feel sorry for both parties involved. Chris for the accusations, and the girl for being put through the ringer. That is why it is so hard for some girls to come forward. But it is also why so many get off. Lies all the way around. I really hope that both parties can move on, but unfortunately, both parties have now had their names tarnished.

No bigger lie has ever been told on this board. It is ludicrous just on its face. What girl would go to her COACH with a problem at home??? It doesn't happen...if you have an appropriate relationship with the player. Do you know who the young lady goes to with her personal problems at home?????

ANSWER: Her Boyfriend.

Sam-Once again you are clueless. Many TNL girls testified that Chris was a friend and helped them with more than just softball, like a big brother. There were tons more girls that wanted to testify to the same thing, the defense cut the list way down. So what, was he having sex with ALL of them?? You have a twisted mind, you should consider some therapy.

I'm clueless?? I don't have to lie to prove a point. It speaks volumes to me that a 37 year old was a "big brother" to such a large number of young ladies. I have an analytical mind.....are you just pulling for Falcione...hoping that he was innocent...so you can justify your own DD's big brother relationship????....hoping he didn't do anything inappropriate with her????

Sam, you are right on.....People are missing the point that there is more than doubt here!!!

Sftbll4ever, your post is perfect.....That is what I was trying to get out in text, oops posts earlier but couldn't formulate it the right way.....

He should have never put himself in the position where an overage man is alone with an underage girl away from the softball field....NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER!!! It's his own fault....You mean to tell me that he doesn't know one woman on earth that he could've brought with him.....EXACTLY

Can't help but wonder, if all of the 'facts' as (only) now presented by CF's supporters were true, how did the prosecution convince 4 people of his guilt?

All the CF adorers are presenting on here are items (they claim) the defense was able to refute, and yet there had to be some pretty damning testimony/evidence against him.

Any theories? (from those of you who were there). Or were you all as shocked by the fact that 4 jurors found him guilty as you were when the entire softball community didn't embrace him following his arrest?
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

The October 7th date was count 1...a for sure date...which 4 jurors found to be credible....Count 2 covered an alleged sexual encounter in a two week window...which would account for the reduction in credibility and number of jurors believing the story down to 1.

My point is...with all this doubt and questions unanswered (Although I will argue that some didn't need answering) why would you come on here on proclaim his innocence? That is ridiculous.....He's not innocent, maybe not 100% guilty but definitely not innocent and he is guilty of the worst judgement of anybody on earth.....Should've never been in that position....HIS FAULT
