And(I hope you are sitting) They become sweet & nice like they were at ten!! The best part is I don't ask about the practices and the team- she calls to tell me.

I hope you guys are both correct. The creature inhabitaing the 3rd floor of casa 3's Dad is a handful. She was sweet until about 9.5 then........I knew all about the dreaded teenage years but not the terrible tween ones.

When all my DD's celebrated their 5th birthday, they all received a card that said " Daddy loves you, you have 13 years to find a place to live " ... Now that I'm older and wiser, that card should have said " Daddy loves you, you have 7 years to find a place to live and can come back to visit in 13 years "

The scariest part of all this is when the oldest left (she is now 35) , around the age of 22, she chose a profession that taught her new and creative ways to kill people. When she was away, and would call me (usually from a medical facility ) it was to tell me about the latest thing that she learned how to kill people with. Like I said, she is 35 now, and her husband (not sure about his judgement) built her an AR-15 for her birthday. How sweet and romantic. I promise you I had no clue up to one week before she left for Paris Island that this is what she wanted to do. I tell these stories to encourage you younger guys to be f prepared - even then, who knows.

When she was little I used to wonder how i would handle(aka intimidate) prospective suitors of my DDs affections. Would I sharpen my bayonet while asking him "What are your intentions...." I thought of all the fathers that scared the s*** out of me at that age. Bright lights. alternative interrogation methods.... but as my DD got older- I realized my DD was not the one to worry about, but the poor guy who was dating her. My DD had become a turbo charged version of her mother(albeit now stronger from the weight training) who has given "high maintenance" a new meaning. She is strong willed, demanding, and knows what she wants and will not tolerate anyone who can not handle that. Now all I can do is shake my head and think "you poor bastard, do you know what you are getting into?"
