Baseball pitching machine for softball

We recently accquired a two wheel baseball pitching machine. Will hitting baseballs from this machine help or hurt my 14 year old DD's softball hitting? Some people have said having the ball come from an overhand motion will hurt while others have said it wouldn't matter. I'd love some opinions from people who are more knowledgable about hitting than I am. Thanks.

Just dont set it up as high as you would for baseball, cut the legs down so the pitching point is about the same height as a softball pitcher. But, dont use a good bat, hitting baseballs will destroy a softbal bat.

I have pitched overhand to softball girls for 30 years and it does not hurt anything.

I will add that we never hit off of a machine though, I only use them for infield and outfield drills.
