Coaches do yourself a favor and spend some time watching the really good college coaches. They dont beat down their kids constantly to get results. Remember these girls are not intentionally making mistakes. Positive reinforcement and constant training is how I coached when I almost won CIF back in the 80's. It works everytime!
such a huge difference in coaching between Blanco and Sota even though they are both FC teams, Sota runs things more like Rico, positive, calm, no screaming and yelling, no foul language, girls smiling, having fun, coaches and players laughing, joking with each other, having a good time, etc, I can go on, just a good vibe and their success and results show. Blanco and Javier like the screaming, put the fear in the players, punish players, tear players down, argue with the blues, cursing, walk around with angry faces, etc., all of that negative shows as well, like Skinner said, these girls are not intentionally making mistakes, they are giving 100%, its a game of failure, no player will get on base every time, no player will never make an error, no pitcher will never walk or hit a batter, positive reinforcement, encouragement, pumping a player up with confidence is the way to coach, help the player, not hurt the player by punishing or degrading, it upsets me when I see a coach ripping into a player, they must feel real powerful yelling at a young girl, I always wonder to myself, where is this girls parents?
