I personally think PGF should accept ASA bollinger insurance. But I also understand with ASA have their insurance requirement, that other associations respond in-kind.

The corruption at ASA goes way deeper than insurance. Why have tournaments every year in Johnson City TN and Midland TX? They easy to travel too? Are they great tournament locations with nice weather?

If you live in Johnson City TN or Midland, TX then ASA may make sense. For the rest of the country, getting to and from LA is way easy. Ton's of flights.

Straw man arguement; may be true, but not anything to do with THIS topic, just an effort to draw attention away from the issue. Stay here; talk about other locations (AGAIN) in another thread, if you feel the need to address your reasoning on that topic.

If I were running Triple Crown and learned that ASA was no longer accepting my insurance, I would quit accepting theirs. Same if I was in charge of NSA, USSSA or whatever. Wouldn't you?

Hardly amazing that the ONLY NGB for softball with the mandate to provide universal coverage from the USOC be the only softball association to say that requirement makes sense. Of course, if you have a child that play any other sport for the NGB of THAT sport, then that child is also mandated to have the universal coverage required for that youth sport, be it AAU basketball, whatever soccer, whatever lacrosse, Pop Warner football, and many other sports and associations. Of course, each sport has other associations, and each may have alternative insurance programs to the NGB; but the NGB's (and the leading associations in non-OSOC sports) have mandated universal coverage from their one preferred insuror, a policy that generally covers other associations, has the most generous limits to protect the insureds, and, mandates THEIR coverage, to assure the most effective premiums due to their market position. If they don't require that policy, the premiums increase.

In my experience, the policies from the "other" (read smaller) associations have always had either lower policy limits, lesser coverage, lower rated insurors; SOMETHING to get their premiums to even match the market leader, let alone come in cheaper. Mandated universal coverage may sound like Obama-care (yeah, pretty much the same thing) but it is hardly new, has always been the most cost-effective, and the free market has never proven capable of beating the best deal of the biggest possible master policy.

In the same metaphor, let us know which major medical center refuses Blue Cross/Blue Shield or Medicare, because BC/BS or Medicare doesn't give THEIR in-house coverage the same reciprocity. You may find some small facility, but that is only if they plan to stay small and insignificant. I doubt you can state the same vision for PGF.

USOC seems to be out of the picture. USOC does not mandate exclusive coverage.

The policy sold by ASA is exactly the same as the policy sold by PGF. Same company underwriting. Same policy.

So your argument breaks down to ASA is special so they alone should be able to screw their customers.

I have never heard an AAU coach say "Oh we accept your ASA policy we gonna give you a $20 off your registration."

Which brings up a more important point. Parents of kids are largely stupid for letting organizations like yours double and triple charge for something they already have with their main healthcare coverage. When they wake and refuse, the organizations that recognize it as the correct approach will be the ones that are left standing.

Because people lie. As previously stated, the cause for insurance is probably just as much to cover the opponents than the team purchasing it. And the only way ANY organization can do that is to provide that insurance themselves. The health care side is secondary.

Really? Then I better tell all those people who have been part of the ASA JO Committee that they wasted all those hours discussing the wrong issue. Wish you had told us that earlier.

A corrupt political system at ASA dominated by Johnson City TN and Midland TX that runs ASA as their own personal money grab is the root of the problem. How does that serve the whole country?

I would love to hear your bull...er, substantiation you have to support this comment.

After loosing the top teams in the country at all age levels, I would think that ASA would start to wake up.

Another self-serving statement. Just because YOU think all the stop teams left, it must be true.

It would be no problem for ASA to accept insurance from PGF and vice versa. They are both bollinger policies with the same dollar amount. How can you possibly argue against that?

Probably the same way that GMAC would probably feel about financing all the new Fords going out of the Ford showrooms, or maybe the New York Yankees accepting tickets for NY Mets games at their gate.

Yeah, people that sell insurance never lie. Not sure how my policy covers the other team, besides the very limited liability clause.

I have never had a Ford dealer reject financing from anyone, including GMAC. I always arrange financing before purchase of a car. Car dealerships seem to love selling cars.

You have a case with families with 4 and 5 copies of the same crappy limited liablity, which will never cover anything anyway and that is for a single kid.

Again ASA is special, so they have an exclusive right to screwing their customers. Anyone that challenges that is an ego maniac.

Okay AI.....West Coast not wanting to travel east of the Rockies. But it's fair because that's where the "top teams" are. Well maybe so...but you need the rest of the country to attend to pay for your west coast tourney. Oh yeah, NY has plenty of flights also, so is that fair to say teams should attend triple crown?

Maybe we can develop something similar to Obamacare for insurance and then everyone gets screwed on over-priced, useless insurance.

Plenty of places that are reasonable to hold tournaments. Chicago, St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Cincinnati, D.C./Virginia, Atlanta, Orlando, Charlotte, Seattle, Portland, Dallas, Memphis, Miami, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Philly, New Jersey, New Orleans, Houston. You can start by looking at this map on where airplanes actually fly http://www.aaronkoblin.com/work/flightpatterns/index.html. Since you are trying to 'serve the whole country'.

Perhaps your issue is that you have prematuraly limited your list of cities to Johnson City TN, Midland TX and New York City.
