10U too early for TB?

You also can hear Jennie Finch say how she missed friends' parties, sleep overs, school events and more, but it was all worth it at the end because she got to travel the world. Thing is that payoff isnt there anymore for even the most gifted, so if your kid wants to play 10u, go for it, but allow her to be a kid and try to maintain some balance.

we are in this situation right now..... My DD1 is a second year 10 and has been playing travel for 8 months... I just sighned her and DD2 and DD3 all up for 10u rec and I'm coaching.... DD2 and 3 are happy.....DD1 is not a happy camper... I haven't told her TB coach yet and I'm having second thoughts...

Thats a fact. We had a balance worked - my kid never missed a homecoming, never missed a prom, she had a boy friend / still has, damn it ( its ok, i almost like the kid), I carried a few extra kids than I would have rathered - but the kids were all pretty much starters - they just had to rotate. I wanted to have kids so when someone said 'hey my cousin Juan is getting married next month' no problem, we could work around weddings, vacations, quincenarrios, or whatever.

In regard to Jennie, visiting with her dad at various tournaments , didnt sound like she missed all that much at school, but kids see it different than us and Im sure someday, I will get dragged on Jerry Springer or something to explain how I beat her and made her play softball rather than go hunting , fish, kayak, canoe, go hiking, and all enjoy all the crap that is covered with spider web over in the corner of my office.
