Tipping Off Pitch or Location. Cool or Not?

I have no doubt that BS's kid is very savvy, but if a hitter can pick up a "tell" like that from a pitcher she faces maybe a few times a year, shouldn't that pitcher's own coach also be aware of it?

I wondered whether she actually saw something but either she did or she was just damn lucky. That pitcher kicked her A$$ the rest of that game and the next one not to mention the game before.

Those of us whom have coached college players learned very quickly about the willingness of pitchers to hit batters.....for not much reason at all. They will hit them for stealing signs....for a hard hit ball in a previous at bat......or just because "that bitch looked at me."

Stealing signs at 2B and passing them to the batter is stupid at 12U and 14U....the pitchers don't hit their spots very often. At 16U on up, it becomes dangerous to the batter's health just because the pitchers turn into raving bitches.

We have had 3 issues with this since DD2 morphed into a determined softball player - funny thing was all 3 issues were with teams from one town in our state. I would almost like to track down the names to see if these kids were related. But anyway, DD2 doesnt want to reward them with a base, this after saying ' I dont understand why these people mess with me - do they not know that I can end their softball career with one pitch ' . One of these losers, a high school team during the playoffs, threw at her on 4 straight at-bats, the 3rd at bat, the kid missed and DD2 put the ball out of the park. She had 3 hbp and the one hr that night. The next day, after a lot of hype from the news about the loser team doing this, DD2 team beat them twice -and hit two more HR, one run rule - to advance in the playoffs.

When she was younger, 9-11 , she broke bones in 4 kids - none intentional. I know of one intentional - she plugged this kid in the side to retaliate for being hit. DD2 was 8 at the time, I will never forget her words, 'See if that bitch hits me again.' Thats when I started to think she might be a little different.

Hey Tripper sounds like you haven't been around those "winning isn't everything, it's the only thing!" Coaches who say "what do we do to WIN? EVERYTHING!"

That's OK..they're not everywhere, but you'd be surprised what coaches do to win a Tourney. I know my DD's organizations 18 Gold coach won't hit his pitchers except during showcases because he doesn't want to put them "in harms way"

Back to the subject... this topic came up a few months ago & I asked my DD's opinion (since the weekend before several of the Corona Angels girls were doing this down in IE) & she doesn't care one way or another & she's not interested in getting the info from a teammate either.

Uhhh...exactly whom will you be having words with....the coach who didn't ask the pitcher to hit anyone....or the opposing pitcher? I wish you good luck with that approach and better luck with the assault allegation.

Actually is technically Aggravated Battery. If it's okay to do, why don't you ever hear anybody take ownership of purposely hitting someone with a pitch? I just did some searching an no one ever admits to hitting on purpose. Why? (Rhetorical)

There is right and there is wrong. Deal with it or make excuses to make yourself feel better.

So trippir, what would you call a late hit on a quarterback? Or a hard slide in at home, or 2nd base. Just a little tip, there is a sport - on most televisions, and even at most high schools and colleges, its called baseball. You might want to get to know that game as well as softball.
