Personally I'd much rather my DD be outside playing any sport year round as opposed to sitting in front of a TV or a video game. We'll each do it our way and hopefully it will work out.
I imagine Sam is always right.

Kids' bodies are different. That said.....if you err on the side of the folks encouraging 10U TB and you are wrong.....your kid gets hurt. If you err on my side.....NOTHING bad happens. NOTHING.
You are the parent and you certainly have the right to put your kid in harms way if you so choose.
Actually playing video games is better for the kid from September through January of each year until they reach 15 years old. Thats when they play the 30-40 game that are absolutely worthless.

Nothing bad happens? What if the kid gets too used to sitting around, playing fxxxing video games, eating cheetoes, and drinking cokes that they dont want to get back into sports.
The more the kids stay busy, the less time they have to think up sxxx to get into. I heard my grandma telling my parents that about 50 or so years ago and I havent forgot it.
