Church and Softball?

What's on your mind?

I know this isnt what you mean, but as as a childd, I hated piano practice - and if I got to decide what I'd rather do, I wouldnt have practiced what I was supposed to. So my parents , doing their job as parents, made me practice. Now that I am certainly older, I appreciate the fact that I can sit down at a piano, and play.

No worries, it was just my anti-indoctrination stripes showing. ;) I'm thankful that my parents allowed me to think for myself from a very early age. My wife wasn't so lucky, so DD gets both, as she goes to church most Sundays. Wife hates me when I tell her that God's presence is wherever anyone wants him to be, arguing that I'm minimizing the importance of church attendance. Then I remind her of the deeply spiritual experiences we've had out in nature.

I agree that parents should help children to explore their talents.

The holiest man I ever knew went to a church service twice that I know of, the day I married his daughter, and the day we buried him.

above all, it is very important to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. to learn and to grow in the word every day. To ask God to forgive us of our sins and to have mercy on our lives. As a parent I will always teach my DD to put God first. yeh its very difficult to attend church at 10:00 a.m. in Chula Vista when you have a game at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside. but it is more important to have a sincere heart and a willing heart to worship God in and out of church. maybe on the way to the game you can pop in a worship CD and listen to a couple of worship songs. give God all the glory and all the praise. God knows your heart, and where it really is. Allow your DD to be the light on and off the field.

Back when I was coaching, one of my assistants was a pastor, his wife was the piano player.
The girl made most of our Sunday morning events via car pool.
Pastor said, God is on the softball field too. 8-)

Softball and church go hand in hand. I currently run a 14U team and it's one of the biggest question on many peoples minds. I am not ashamed of sharing the truth about Jesus and what he's done in my life and my entire families lives. This year our organization will start holding bible studies during game breaks at tourneys and friendlies. I left a great high school baseball team as coach to start a travel softball team for this very reason. How easy it is to get caught up in things of the world and forget about what is truley important in life. I would of agreed with many of the others who commented earlier but since I took the time to read the bible for myself and lived the life changing experiences the living word has done for me and others around me, I will continue to share GODS truth with anyone who is willing to listen. Try it for yourselves, read GODS word and see if it don't speak to your heart. Start with the gospel of John so you can understand who JESUS is and what HE did for all.

very well said brother. it says in the bible, that the world will pass away. but Gods word will remain forever. It is just a vapor of time that we're here on earth, and our true citizenship is in heaven for those who believe and trust in the Son of God. That one on one personal relationship with our Lord, Christ Jesus. remember that Jesus' blood was shed for our sins. the only true, perfect sacrafice. thank you Jesus, and Thank you all so very much for your comments. God bless
