Demarini CF5/CF4 Insane

I know they say the Insane model is end loaded,other than that is there any difference in the regular model and the Insane.....Which bat has more pop or is it about the same? Any info would help Thanks

The new cf5 also has an end loaded model that is -9 and they also have a -10 that "feels" more endloaded but does not weigh more... They also have a new balanced cf5.

With that being said; I think the new CF5 is a great bat and I would look an Ebay for a good deal rather than purchasing a CF4 Insane.

The Insane..... -10 has a bit more endloaded feel.

Good point. Bat Speed is king, even at the sacrifice of weight. somebody here posted an equation about two years ago discussing the tradeoffs of weight and speed, and it was clear from the discussion that batted ball distance was about 3 parts bat speed to 1 part bat weight. Length for plate coverage is the 2nd important item. If you can handle 23 oz., Better to swing a 33/23 than a 32/23 so you can have the extra inch coverage on the outside curve or drop.

Assuming 'I' was the 'him' you were referring to ... Yes some of my DD's are 'both' ...LOL ... However ... To bring you up to date, I have a personal vendetta against DeMarini and Mr Notsofreakin' Niceonthephone at DeMarini Customer Dis-service ... It all stems from a bat that was not the correct weight several years ago ... It was a full ounce over ... I got a return number and sent it back but they would not replace it saying that " Bats being a full ounce off are within company tolerances " And that " I'm not going to go back in the warehouse weighing every bat to see if I can find one that is the correct weight " ... My argument was that if you bought a 22oz bat and a 24oz bat, DeMarini could send you two 23oz bats and that is within company tolerances ... After much back and forth over the issue, I gave the bat away and swore to Mr Notsofreakin Niceonthephone that any time that one of my players were to ask about what kind of bat they should buy ... Any time a parent asked... A Coach ... an Umpire ... Any time it came up in cyber space ... Any time I saw someone look at a DeMarini bat at the local sporting goods store ... That I would get up on my anti DeMarini soap box and bash away ... He said he didn't care which added fuel to the fire ... So, I have lost count ... I'm guessing on this site alone I have ranted on at least 150 times ... In our house they have not sold probably 15 bats ... Plus ALL the teams I have coached ... REC - Travel - HS ... It really cost me nothing ... It's my little way of saying thank you for making sure I was a happy customer ... ...

The new CF5 is also available in a -11 this year. Has anyone on here hit with it yet? Does the extra bat speed make up for lighter weight? All the -12 composites I've ever tried didn't seem to have much pop...Anyone??
