I will tell you what my daughter remembers, she remembers playing against the best competition in the world, the same kids she played against at ASA 16U Nationals, ASA 18U Nationals, ASA Gold, and ASA Open Womens, are the same kids she competed with, and against in college, we had 12 girls on our local travel team and we played ASA, 8 ended up playing at D1's, 2 at a D2, and 2 chose not to play in college and both had D1 offers, when we played at ASA Nationals and in Colorado we would have tons of college coaches watching our games, Olympic Team coaches trying to recruit or players, try to find that in another association. I would take a 17th at an ASA National over an NSA World Series Championship any day of the week!! Our teams focus was softball not the beach!! THAT IS WHAT MY DAUGHTER REMEMBERS!!

Forget the ads, you need to be looking for teams that carry the gold tag....
Mudville All-Star 10U Elite, forget them, they ain't got nothing.
Mudville All-Star 10U Gold, this team is the real deal, beg, borrow, cheat, or steal to get your kid on this team.

We were talking about 10U right?

Is that what "she" remembers or you?

A little too much testosterone in the room, I'll leave you guys to sort it out. FYI, Bake, Backstop is a former D1 athlete himself, he's been around a little.

Just texted my daughter at school (I know...bad dad) and asked her that very question. Her team won 4 consecutive NSA A Nationals, twice at 10u and twice at 12u and have played ASA since the second year of 12u. Her best memory was playing on Championship Sunday in Sioux Falls at ASA Nationals and finishing 4th. 116 total teams and the performance level required to place 4th far overshadowed winning a 50 team NSA National. Different strokes for different folks, but I have to agree with Bake. Finishing 3rd in the Miss America pageant is probably more memorable than being county Fair queen, depending upon your aspirations.

Hahaha...I thought this topic was about 10/12U?? Like I said, we will change that thinking when the time comes. Good luck against the best in the world.

Gunshy, I can ABSOLUTELY agree with that. Sounds like your DD was part of some great teams. That really wasn't my question though. Were talking 10s and 12s. That team was obviously in a great position to be a real threat at USA/ASA, and after a little research no kidding they were ready, but that was 16U.

I have not read all 15 pages of comments regarding the best of the best 10-Under A teams on Heybucket. I can, however, give more insight into the tournament that "Bake" won. The tournament was posted as an ASA National Qualifier by Hawks Softball. I want to be sure everyone understands the difference between ASA and USA/ASA berths. An ASA National Qualifier would be to the Northern, Eastern, Southern or Western ASA National Championships. A team may not qualify for the ASA National Championship outside of their home association. Teams must register where the majority of their players reside. A USA/ASA National Qualifier would be for a berth to the USA/ASA National Championship. Teams from all over the United States would be eligible to compete in the USA/ASA National Championship. Bake's team did not win a USA/ASA qualifier. The tournament in Illinois that was advertised as an ASA Qualifier was nothing more than an invitational tournament to an Indiana team. In 2011 the USA/ASA is in Johnson City, TN and the ASA Northern is in Rochester, MN. I am not here to discuss who is the best or who is "eligible" to play Class A or Class B, only to clarify the ASA Code. I have been in contact with Bake and am trying to find out if he was misled by the Hawks organization. Please do not feel that Bake is at a disadvantage here.
