Who will be the top 18U Gold Texas teams this year?

by TulsaEliteGold » Tue Jun 17, 2008 1:08 pm

LA United also has one of the best pitchers in the Southern Territory in Donna Bourgeois of Louisiana-Lafayette. (She was 16-5 with a 0.93 ERA this season & is conisistantly 66-68 MPH)

That's her. LL has a nice rotation in the circle the next 3 years with Bourgeois & Brignac both being Sophomores-to-be.

Coach Lotief has a heck of a perfect storm over there with the hitting work he does with his kids and now with the BB pitchers. Tough tough tough.

Going to OKC this weekend to see the Gold qualifier. Will an Texas teams qualify this week or will they all have to come back to FW next weekend to try to get it done. North Texas has only one team qualified this year, should get at least one more over the next two weekends. The NT teams talent levels are down this year but should bounce back in the next year or two.

Heard the field of teams was very weak and once the Texas Aces got beat out, the Katy Heat was the only true Gold team left. The rest of the teams were 18U "A" (some "B") calling themselves "Gold".

It will be interesting to see how they do when they get introduced to the rest of the Gold field in OKC. It appears with the new alignment and the way the qualifiers were set up, some much weaker teams got in this year.

Did not have a d g in the hunt, but you seem like a parent of a team that was beat. Maybe your on the Aces. I do not know the bracket, but it seems like from your post that the Aces did not qualify. If the Aces were the best team, how come they got beat. You should not down grade teams that have qualified on the field. It is what it is, they deserved it. Sure some will get schooled, but at least they made the danced. where will you be.........SULFUR
