In 2006 we used the No Error Gear Guard Catchers bag- The bag always fell over, and teetered to one side. This was before the fat boy wheels design. From the dragging the bag constantly on it's side it wore a hole in the material. My dislikes were due to design, not about size, or quality

In 2007 we used Kelley Gloves Catcher bag. Biggest piece of junk. Zippers breaking, cheap material, just awful

In 2008 we are using the Lousiville HOSS bag. So far Nothing to complain about. Size is the biggest available and teh cheaper of the 3.

I have been seriously looking at the Easton Sled bag...................But for half the pricer the Hoss is awesome.

Interesting. DD's friend has one that she got right after it came out. She has been using it for almost 2 years and it appears to still be going strong, so I assumed the quality was top-notch. I defer to your direct experience with the bag.

sorry to hear about your bag experience. Just wanted to comment on one line -- about them being made in China.

I would be REALLY, REALLY surprised if you could find a bag, a bat (except for Combat & those made in the same factory in Canada), or a glove under $200 (Nakona excepted) that is not made in China, by any brand.

The issue isn't China, it is product design and quality control.

Well, I'll chime in with my two cents as we have been experiencing with several bags to accomidate our catchers.

- Boombah- great bag but needs to be a couple of more inches wider and deeper. Our two catchers bags let go on the zipper as we had it stuffed to tight. I think the issue for us is that not only do we carry leg guards, chest protector, two gloves, helmets, we also have to carry both uni's at all time. The problem that we found was that when we placed the leg guards in the side panels with the knee saver, it was to tight. In all honestly, I really do like the Boombah bags and are a fan but would have liked the beast bag to be a tad bit bigger as it was just not big enough for a catcher. Boombah does not advertise their beast bag as a catchers bag to begin with. ( interstingly, just noticed that Boombah did increase their size of beast bag)

- Easton Ogio Cruiser - This year we decided to try the cruiser as it had a different compartment setup. All our gear does fit in and there is lots of room in it. However, the wheels are not even close to the superiority of the Boombah bag nor does it have as good a hard shell bottom to prevent wear and tear. After the first week, we have major wear on the bottom and on the side as it appears that if you don't place your gear in a balance position, it tilts to one side and drags. You can't use the bat holder on the side as interferes with the base of the bag and drags on the ground.

- Line Drive - when we purchased the Ogio Cruiser bags, we shipped in 1 Line Drive team bag. Inexpensive and impressive. I only wish we would have ordered more of these instead of the Ogio Cruiser. large bag, wheels not bad and handles itself well.

My DD has had Louisville slugger Hoss...broke down in the middle and drug the bottom until it wore through and not quite enough room.

Line drive....awesome bag, doesnt lean to one side is still going strong after a high school season, we shall see after the summer. The bottom area has a seperate zipped area DD puts her dirty shin guards in and it keeps most of the dirt down in the shin guard area. She loves this. It is not fancy or awesome looking but with teh problems in bags before she just loves the room and the reliability of this bag.

I would agree the Boombah bags are not great. Or team ordered them for the season and we have had many wheels break, zippers rip, etc. Plus DD's catchers gear is like a Jenga puzzle trying to fit it all in. Only upside was many color choices.
I just got her an Easton catcher's bag, all black. It's got wheels and runners along the bottom for extra strength. It holds everything easily and is also easy to carry/ roll/ cram into the back of the car. It was $80, bought it locally in Phx.

That line drive bag is nice looking, and a great price $55. I'll keep that in mind. The only thing is, you get black or black/silver. some teams really like the Boombah color choice.

so far, our teams have gotten new bags every year...so as long as our gear last from fall to summer, im a happy camper...and boombah lasted from fall to summer...e2 fell apart, and thats when dd played recball...
