I think leaving in december is acceptable considering the following conditions have been met:

1. Parent googles are removed

Can I use bing or yahoo to find a new team where the coach appreciates dd's mad skills? Either one is fine as long as I don't have to go to eteamz.

Now that's funny and i didn't notice that at all 'twice'...that what happens when you try to work and surf the bucket.

FP, this is the time to do it with no consequences. It is officially the end of the season and you have fulfilled your obligation to the team as the team/coach has fulfilled the obligation to your daughter. Many coaches will be cutting players this week through New Years, in hope of finding stronger players for the spring season. Many first year 14u girls will be looking for teams to play with while their 2nd year teams are dark. Let the mass movement begin. Tis the season. LOL

Great information for us new people! DDs coach was sorta pressuring her to commit NOW for next year. She stuck with team for all of 2010, but we knew she wanted to step it up a notch. Didn't know new teams are formed in August.

Update - six months later.

She is happy she made the move. All other considerations aside, it really came down to two things: was she developing at the pace she should be, and was she still having fun.

Was it easy leaving? No. Were feelings hurt? Yes. Was it the best choice? At the time, probably, but in hindsight, definitely.

It's all a learning process, and hopefully they come out the other end all the better for it, and more prepared to face the harsher realities of the world.

Softball is a wonderful metaphor for life.

Ha, that's the first thing I noticed...
I figured it was either something got messed up with the dates when Heybucket transferred to the new server....or poster was in a coma for a year, adn didn't notice their kid was wearing a heck of alot more makeup than what they think is 6 months ago...

I'm still trying to figure out why my DD who never wears makeup normally makes sure to wear it during games. She once said it was war paint.
