Easton Steath vs. Demarini CF4

What's on your mind?

by hit4power » Wed Oct 06, 2010 6:30 am

Our middle child uses the 2010 CF4, likes it alot. Heard an account the other day from a hitting coach that the new 2011 CF4 has quite a bit of pop out of the wrapper. In the end, swing what you are comfortable with and just crush the freaking ball

Couldn't agree more - DD unwrapped a new CF4 yesterday - lots of pop and a much different sound than her CF3, but hey, swing whatever feels good

good point! she primarily uses regular softballs, some slowpitch balls. what type of balls do you suggest that may subject her bats durabilty? Any one? Tia!

we had a couple of bats break on us within a few months....then found out a few dozen really hard mens slow-pitch balls were mixed in with the normal fast pitch balls where we take hitting lessons. A couple of parents uncovered this when they realized every kid taking lessons there had broken a bat within a couple months of starting instruction there. Most of them were covered by warranties, but a few were SOL..

I'm going to retract my previous statement. It could very well have been a few balls that should not have been there.

did not think slow pitch balls could produce that much damage to fastpitch bats!

well....kinda hard to prove or disprove, but with a name like Steele-Hyde softballs and an exterior that felt like a rock....I'm convinced they had something to do with it..? I did go buy a $45 Rawlings Liquid-Metal tri-shell bat (same size and weight of her normal bat) that I insist she use for hitting lessons after the incident...!! By the way, my daughter has a CF4 and the purple/white Stealth that she carries, and prefers the Demarini (but I think only because it's newer..LOl!)
