I coached for a well respected organization for 12s and 14s, several years ago. Did the typical coaching daughters team as I got tired of idiots running the teams. I coached at the rec level for a few years while she was in 10s. Did well there of course, won nearly all the area tournaments. 12's had a lot of success. 14s we did pretty well, probably not as well as I had hoped (17th at Nationals). After 14s I let the kid make her own way. There was a few good coaches in the area so there was no need for me to continue on as I felt it would only hurt her down the road. My daughter is at her first year of college , and so now I did my part, and I just watch. Spent 1 year assisting at 18 Gold but to be honest it was more of them needing an extra hand to make things go smoother in practice. I stopped doing that as the recruiting process ate up a lot of my time. At one point I think I was spending more time with that then actual work. I made my daughter do some of it, but I made sure everything stayed in order and on top of things. If you've been through it, you know what I'm talking about. So thats my story in a nutshell. I grew very tired of showcasing by the time her senior year hit. So I would always check out what was going on at 14s. I made a lot of friends a long the way and it seems when I go to the fields now I spend more time b.s'n then watching the games

Overall a great ride, learned a lot, made a ton of mistakes but has paid off. Somebody started 12u rankings, so I thought I would take on the 14s. Now I see a lot of same faces at the fields from younger siblings ,etc. I only had one to get through the process, 2 would have killed me
