I wonder if Adams would have minded translating that into ebonics? I see a couple of words there I'm gonna have to look up...

Here is another Orwell quote:
"I have seen wonderful things and at last really believe in Socialism, which I never did before". George Orwell
The Collected Essays, Journalism and Letters of George Orwell Volume 1 – An Age Like This 1945–1950 p.301
Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy.
Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965)

You can understand capitalism when you realize that Thomas Edison improved the world more than Karl Marx

In short, real conservatives who believe in small government, fiscal responsibility, a rational foreign policy based on the national interest, and non-involvement in other people's quarrels should never support global wars on terror or global wars on anything. They should reject completely the insidious and absurd notion that Washington can intervene all over the world and not raise taxes to pay for the cost, handing our security over to the Chinese lenders and bankrupting our children and grandchildren. Some in Washington have already seen the folly of our present course and are speaking out. "The moral and constitutional obligations of our representatives in Washington are to protect our liberty, not coddle the world, precipitating no-win wars while bringing bankruptcy and economic turmoil to our people." Ron Paul said that in 2008 and it should be the rallying cry for a constitutionally based foreign and defense policy that truly benefits the American people.

I agree with that passage in principle--the central condundrum being the determination of what, exactly, constitutes a "rational foreign policy based on national interest." But even in its most circumspect incarnation that is a far different concept than the pacifist gibberish you've been spouting. When faced with expansionist foreign aggressors (like the Soviet Union, like Islam), selecting your own border as your first line of defense is suicidal.

Perhaps in the interest of full disclosure blackwidow could provide the board with the protests he/she made when Clinton sent troops to save Muslims from genocide in Kosovo or when he ordered the cruise missile attack in Kenya after the embassies were bombed...oh, that's right, he's a Democrat...never mind...

So, since you have the right to own a firearm, you and your family are safe from suicide bombers, dirty bombs, biological warfare, etc?

Classic liberal logic....although, I thought almost all of you guys on the extreme left were for gun control?

I have several rifles, shotguns, and a pistol or 2 ;) , and I would rather not have to use them to protect my family from radicals with bombs strapped to their bodies, personally.

To be clear (and fair), blackwidow is not a liberal. She (or at least I think it's "she") is extremely suspicious of big government, centralized authority, etc., and, as such, her views are much more strongly libertarian (or perhaps anarchist), than anything else. But with odd (and inconsistent) splashes of communitarianism thrown in, together with a huge dollop of liberal idealism/utopianism that renders her incapable of recognizing how hopelessly unworkable her views are.

The liberal believes he knows better than you how you should live, and thus feels perfectly justified in coercing your compliance. To her credit, that's not blackwidow...at least not that I can discern.

Stop confusing us widow , the heybucket political roundtable only allows red coats or blue coats ,even if every point you make is spot on.
