Good job everyone...thx for the feedback...tell your friends and neighbors..lol

Just to rebuttal while I am here....I do feel I assess every team fairly and look at their overall play...same with the higher ranking of some teams earlier...IMO they were playing more A ball and better competition...but it appears it is all coming together....now.... at what is the important part of the year...for a run at Nationals or to represent well at an end of year Tourney...

Playing good ball is, of course, what matters most....

As far as some of the comments...IMO...wins over teams in pool play don't equate to bracket play...

Saying a team is " 1 and done on Sunday"...well...IMO..1 and done against the likes of Team Az, Dynasty or Hotshots is better than going 6-0 against a bunch of C teams...

Which really is the better team...?

I do agree that the 7-13 spots are "up for grabs" ....and 5 and 6 better pay attention...!!!

Good luck to everyone and see you at the next tourney...!!!

Great game as always vs. Dynasty, going the full 7, Hotshots winning 4-3. Both teams slugging it out, a fun game to watch from start to finish, wish I could have enjoyed it more while it was happening.

To those who say Hotshots 'should' be playing 14s, 60-70% of games are vs. 14s, as more progress is made playing above our skill level. We always do 14s for TCS, USSSA, and friendlies. But you can't always push, push, push the girls. Team morale ebbs and flows through the year, and that can influence the tournaments selected. It was said that "playing 14s exposes our flaws, playing 12s addresses them."

And finally, rank us where you will, but head to head in bracket play, Hotshots are now 2-1 vs Dynasty, and 1-0 vs. Team AZ. That record isn't consistent with the statements that 'Dynasty is the best' or Hotshots are 'a notch below' or 'can't compete day-to-day' with those teams. Not saying we are better, just that no clear cut #1 has emerged yet IMO.

Congrats to the 97 hotshots for winning the tourney. Your new addition is a positive move that will help your pitching in the tournaments to come.

If this addition is permanent that could hurt CG as the end of the year approaches. I dont belive that was their #1 pitcher however she did bring a good stick which really helped out.

As far as the rankings I think they are the best I have seen. I am glad to see that Mdog finally lowered his org teams ranking. They are a good team and had a great weekend. Next year they will be huge contenders to the 98 year as long as losing the 97's does not hurt too much and they add some pitching depth. The only exception to the rankings is Dynasty could be lowered based on this weekends outcome. We should be able to put any team away on a good or bad day. Until we prove that we should not be #1.

The top teams in the state are Team AZ, CG Heat and Dynasty. I base that on the outcome of the games and the competition that is present when these teams bring their A game. Hotshots is always a danger if the top three are off their A game and should not be underestimated. Especially when they have the ability to draw good pick ups for any given tournament. We hope to see all of them in the final four at state. It will be the true identifier of who is who.

Keep up the good work Mdogg.

Thx ...I will try my best...LOL....

" lowered my orgs rankings"...? well, I definately get to keep my secret identity now...

Sorry, you do not know of what you speak..lol..but that's OK...

I do stand by the rankings after this week...I was aware of the Hotshots p/u pitcher...
I know they where not looking to gain any edge..they did lose a pitcher...but this kid is very very good and if she is staying with that team...the Hotshots are in business...!!!

As far as prior rankings..once again...no excuses...I have ranked teams higher than others,

( i.e...previous Fever and Saints over DW-Mabrey and still over DT)

I still based that on competition played, tourneys played etc...

but as said, it is now falling into place...

Also, if interested, if the coaches want to PM me with their rankings...that would be great...!!

Mad Dog, after this weekends tourny I feel your rankings are pretty dead on. The saying on any given Sunday applies for sure in this age group. Definitely need to keep an eye out for the 7-13 teams. They are all working hard and know they have to put in some hard work to get the success against the higher ranking teams. Keep the info coming.

Does anyone have a link to the Bringing the Heat website? Would like to see who is all coming with so many traveling to CA the week before wondering what the turnout will be like.
