This weekend in DFW

Errors... are you kidding me. The score on the last ball game was 12-4 & the one loss was 5-3 to the Hot Rage of Waco & we knew we had to play y'all again. Donkeys outscored opponents 72-13 on the day. As far as that goes legit most runs were scored on doubles, triples, & in the park homers that no play was made on until they were thrown in. There was one four base error when three girls plated in the middle part of the game. But those types of plays are sometimes forced by pressure caused by the speed of the opponent.

Some of those teams were young & playing for the first or second tourney. That is their choice to come out and play and attempt to compete. We have all been there before at some time or another.

And you must be from Waco and with the Hot Rage to claim that Waco Softball is more competitive than DFW. Or that those girls can't hang... down there. The state of Texas has great ball all over & I've seen first hand that it varies from team to team. And the donkeys are a team & have girls that work hard at what they do... my girl was with them & it was the first time she has won a first in select ball in over a year. So it meant a lot to her, at this time last year she was a rec player.

We are having fun with the name & it just caused a lot of reaction.

Hey I think things have gotten a little crazy. I am the coach of HOT Rage so I want to share my thoughts on the game. We lost the championship - no excuses!! I think our "fan" was just upset that we did not get credit for our play the entire day - understandable - you always want to defend your team. I would like to say that I thought both teams played great all day - our wheels just fell off that last game. It happens - you win some you lose some. BTW - we did not enter this tournament to win it. We entered it because it provided an opportunity to play 7 games in one day. We certainly DID NOT expect to just roll over everyone - we had 3 pickup players that had never played tournament ball due to a few of our regular girls having basketball games in Waco. I just appreciate we were able to get some game time in so early in the season. The Donkey's were a great team - it was nice to play different teams - I encourage all you DFW teams to try out a Waco tournament. We have some very nice fields in Waco at the Riverbend complex and would love for you guys to check us out!! I hope the name-calling can stop & we can just agree on supporting the entire fastpitch community. It's about the girls having fun & learning to play great softball.

Well said Majorfan. Tell your girls "great job" and we had a blast and it wouldn't have been a championship without the great games at the end. They played hard all day.

People,People, People!

First lets all agree we wanted to play softball on Jan 23 and get in 7 games!
Now lets talk about reality. Do you know how close this tournament was to not happening?
You should all send a big thank you to the Donkeys they used marketing and advertising to all of our advantages. Recruiting pick up players was the only way this thing happend.
It was viral magic! The tournament had about 4000 clicks by game day.
I have seen tournaments with 20 teams not get 4000 clicks! This would have never happend without the VTD, Heybucket and the Internet.
Do any of your remember trying to find players by calling people on the phone???
The TD was happy and all the teams I spoke with were happy because we played!

I know if I planned to drive from Waco I would have been pretty disapointed if the tournament had not happened, correct?

No one has anything to moan and groan about!
