Don't take it too hard, I did a search on "ssarge" and "sex" and that brought up 746,932 hits, whereas "ssarge" and "ghetto music" got 45,856 hits.

Roughly proportionate to my relative level of interest. . . .

Sure it has more validity now...just like it had more validity for our generation than for the preceding generations. As culture degenerates, the ramifications grow less and less tolerable...presumably (hopefully!) reaching a point where they are not tolerable at all. A little rebellion is one thing...wholesale nihilism quite another.
In any event, the logic undergirding the position that we have nor moral authority to impose limits (because of our own transgressions) isn't tenable. It's of the "two wrongs make a right" species, and basically justifies any level of debasement by this or future generations.

I do see your point and that's a good one.

In general, I'm just not a big fan of blaming art for society's ills whether it's a rapper talking about "tappin dat azz" or Alice Cooper singing about violating his dead girlfriend or a rubber baby he bought in a dimestore.

Couldn't care less what someone is singing/rapping about......unless of course the song sucks. But that's just my personal sentiment and I do understand and respect your view on it.

Merry xmas to you and the little Skarp.

Nor am I...at least not necessarily. Art reflects societal norms as much as it advances/reinforces them, so the problem is bigger than simply the "art" itself. And I'm not necessarily in favor of banning anything...although, unlike many, I do believe communities have the right to do so.

But, that said, my kids can't listen to that crap, and I have no problem with identifying it for what it is...ghetto trash.

I'd say merry Xmas to you and little Gone in 2.6, but I'm thinking it's probably more like Gone in 10.2 in dad's case. ;) And I guess she's not so little anymore, anyway...
