New tourney for teams that miss getting into NCAA tourney a la basketball's NIT. Interesting that TCS's Dave King is involved in it.

He said it will be streamed on ESPN3 and possibly televised on ESPNU.

Sounds good to me. The more exposure the better. And it will be interesting/fun to see how the smaller schools that almost never get into the CWS playoffs fare against the power conference non-tourney teams.

Wouldnt have an issue with Championship caliber JUCOs getting in the fray

ECAC has had regional tournaments in various sports(including Diii softball) in New England and some other Northeast states outside of the NCAA tournaments. Many times schools use it as a springboard to try to advance their program

Btw ECAC provides softball umps for DI, II, and III in the Northeast
