Not sure how they toss the Oregon player, without tossing either of the 2 Texas players for committing equal or worse infractions. Especially the Texas player who, knowing she was out by a mile, threw herself into the catcher at homeplate, then clearly tried to slap the ball out of the catcher's glove, then used a 2-hand shove knocking the catcher on her arse. Texas base-runners were allowed to advance to 2nd and 3rd while the runner is beating on the catcher. Unbelievable she wasn't tossed ... or at least called for Interference after she's called out and actively disrupted the catchers ability to make a play. No call other than out at home. Play on.

1. The umpires let the game get out of hand when the Oregon coach started challenging every call and arguing in a very disrespectful way.
2. The plate umps have been very inconsistent in strike zone. Northwestern beats Texas when an umpire allows a very wide strike zone so the Texas power hitters cannot reach the strikes without getting off balance. The second and third games tighten the zone and the hits come.
3. Both teams had players who had been warned to back off on tags, and offensive contact. The Oregon player had been warned once before and then she was tossed when she threw an elbow into Ogle's face. Arguably she went elbow first into the plate and then tried to throw one on the way up.
4. Texas lost the second game on stolen bases. I will not point the blame to the catcher because we do not know what play the coach calls or what pitch was thrown on the steal. But the team was unprepared to defend against steals of second base. And, a CWS bound team simply can never give up steals of third base and this happened several times on Saturday.
5. Texas lost the third game on pitching. Luna was not effective and did not move the ball enough. Oregon figured out the Texas pitching staff pretty quickly. They made adjustments.
6. All but 2 Oregon starters were from CALI, so these players position for position outplayed Texas. Great outfield plays, much faster running, and simply better hitters. Dominating Pitcher who was all state cali twice. Texas had a decent season but coming in third in the pac 12 is a much higher accomplishment than coming in third in the Big 12. We all know C Clark signs many players for very little money so there are many great players who turn down Texas offers for better financial deals.

Jess Moore pitched her A$$ off. How a kid throws that hard in that heat after that many innings is crazy. That is one tough young lady mentally and physically.

Watching LSU/Mizzo the tough play continues. Trying to take out the opposing players seems to be the theme of this years championship play.
Umps need to get a grip on the game.

I am not a Texas lover, but I did go to the Regionals and Superregionals because my dd got some prime seats as a D1 player. The rumor mill from some softball players is that Oregon targeted the catcher as a player to hit hard. You would think after bounty gate coaches would learn that everything gets out eventually especially if someone is hurt. So I would doubt it is true, but even a sense that this could be happening could justify the ejection of the Oregon player.
