There didn't seem much difference on the field between the team that was fighting for the conference championship and the one that had last place locked up by midseason. UCSB got a few more hits and CSUN made a few more errors and sometimes that's all it takes.

Wisdom vs Pagano
The Gauchos took the early lead on a Jennings HR in the 1st inning and never relinquished it. The Matadors cit the lead in half in the 3rd. Sale singled to CF and an E-6 and a sacrifice got her to 3rd. Thielges singled her home with the only Northridge of the series. With a chance to tie the game or take the lead, the next 2 batters struck out. DePompa and Wisdom led off the 4th with singles but a strikeout and double play ended the threat. It looked like it might stay 2-1 but the Gauchos took advantage of some sloppy fielding in the last 2 innings. DePompa led off the 6th with a single to RF and an E-4 and single by Jeppesen loaded the bases. Putich got the RBI with a single to left. In the 7th an error by the shortstop allowed an unearned run to score.
