Trust me, I have a DD, love softball and fully support women's sports but at the end of the day the big TV contracts and money mostly comes from men's sports. It's stupid to think that the softball coach at Cal State Fullerton should make as much money as the men's baseball coach just because she thinks she should. Her argument that the Equal Pay Act applies will not hold in court.

For coaching positions, what should be paid is a market value rate for the position. In your UCONN example, the market rate would probably result in a similar salary.

The unfortunate thing about this coach is that if her accusations are false, it puts a bad light on any legitimate issues another coach might have.

The problem with your "fair market" argument is that a college/university is subject to Title IX. Also, by the "fair market" argument only a few Football and Basketball coaches at a few schools would be paid a big salary, since most sports at most schools are net financial losers

Here it says GENO AURIEMMA made $1M in 2011, and above says basketball coach made $1.8M in 2009.

CSUF has one of the nicest softball facilities around, how much else did Gromacki expect? I dont know what happened to her last year during the Cathedral City tourney, but there is a lot more to this than we know as of now.
