Long Beach St kept their title hopes alive by splitting with Pacific, a 3-2 loss in the 1st game and a 9-1 mercy win in the nightcap.

The Beach were the 1st to threaten in the 2nd. Sandoval singled to left and Tupua-Tautalatasi singled to right. Stephan loaded the bases with a single up the middle but a strikeout and fly out got the Tigers out of trouble. Pacific was more efficient in the 3rd. Hom got an IF hit and was sacrificed to 2nd. Goyette singled to LF and with 2 outs Petty walked 2 in a row (including the other Taylor Petty) to force in a run. Moore hit one up the middle and Kimbrough made a great diving stop but couldn't quite beat the runner to 2nd base. That brought Jones-Wesley in to pitch and she struck out the next batter.
Steinmehl led off the 5th with a single, advanced to 3rd on an E-1 and came home on a perfect squeeze bunt. Pacific threatened again in the 6th on singles by Allen and Rodriguez but a perfect throw from RF nailed Allen at the plate. The 49ers finally got on board in the bottom of the inning. Neal singled to LF went to 2nd on a ground out and scored on Sandoval's single to CF. An E-4 gave them an extra chance and Stephan took advantage with an RBI-single to RF but the runner was caught between 3rd and home and tagged out. Long Beach went out in order in the 7th and the 1st game was in the books.

Bonnet vs Jones-Wesley
Long Beach put this in the refrigerator quickly with 5 runs in the 1st. Kimbrough and Neal led off with singles and DE Gaetano doubled them both home. Two walks loaded the bases and a wild pitch brought in a run before Booker's single to LF brought in 2 more. Hom singled in the 3rd for the Tigers and a bunt single by Rodriguez was complicated by an E-1. Petty folowed with a single for the Tigers' only run of the game. Long Beach got into mercy territory in the 4th. Booker doubled off the CF wall and Carrasco walked. They were bunted over and Neal brought them both in with a single to LF. After singles by De Gaetano and Sandoval loaded the bases a sac fly brought the 3rd run in. After leaving 2 runners on in the 5th the 49ers got the necessary run in the 6th. Sandoval doubled off the 3rd baseman's glove and 3 straight BBs provded the run rule margin.
