Whats going on with the NorCal 12U & 14U Poll?

I'm thinking about a Bracketologist Best of the Best 12U & 14U Invitational tournament in June in San Diego.

Not sure who to invite in North & Central Cal................. maybe I'll just go and watch the Fresno Classic

Thanks Wilson! I look forward to your thoughts. We will have 24 spots for the Bracketologist Best of the Best 12U & 14U Invitational tournament and we hope to reserve at least 4 spots for non-so cal teams.

My best of the best tournament is this Sunday ....... the bucket is quiet – there are a lot of nervous coaches and parents.

I agree with Wilson. This weekends CA Breeze friendly will give us an idea of which teams are near the top. You have Breeze98, Sorcerers, TC Smash98,Grapettes Vasquez, St Dennis and Acuna and some other teams from the area. The best of North/South would be a great tune up for PGF!!!!!

There was a load of player changes up here after the summer and again in the fall. My thoughts are some outspoken parents are now eating crow over some of their earlier post and maybe their team is not as good as they thought early in the year. Several teams up here will be traveling down south during the summer and at least 3 have been accepted to th Premier Nationals.

In the 12u it would be R&R and Mizuno Garcia. I think it would be a toss up between some of the other teams.

San Jose Sting has to be mentioned in the top 3 for the 12u.

We will find out this weekend 2/18- 2/19. Just heard yesterday at the Breeze tourny that 12U friendly going on and it has all the top teams going. Team Xtreme and Mizuno Garcia- Dirtdogs- KG hitters RR gold and some other teams. Not sure who the other ones are but friendly or not. Coach said they are going to play to win.

Definitely some promising competition in 14s this season. Its also very encouraging to see the potential in these teams to represent NorCal at premier. True, some teams handled business but in the longer scope of things like in competing down south, it is going to take more than a team of big bats or a team that can small ball to the win. KG for instance hit very well this weekend I thought but are they able to execute the bunt like Smash can? Sorcerers has some big bats but had no small game. Grapes had some big hitters but needs work like all these other teams. Smash didn't perform with hitting but small game got it done. A "w" is a "w". However, what they had that the others did not ,were more developed components in working order compared to others. Its all you can ask for early on. IMO its gonna take all the pieces of the puzzle to get it done down south. Just because it smells good in the kitchen, and tastes good before its in the oven, doesn't make it done and presentation worthy. I vote for none of the above yet.
