Team to beat in Nor Cal right now is All American Sports Academy 10's. Word is they will play up for the fall.

Kinda hard to tell what good teams are out there......for the most part lots of 99's still playing fall. Or half and half. But the AASA i hear is all 2000's. Salinas Storm. don't know who else...

With anything the 10s are always an enigma. There will be some good teams and then there will be some teams in transition. The area for the 10s to operate on are extremely wide and will differ in talent, skill & knowledge year in and year out. While this past spring/summer 2010, the 10s had a variety of competitive teams facing each other weekly in Nor Cal, that is not the case currently for the fall and the 2011 future. Those teams were mostly 99s and have now aged up to the 12s division. Currently the AASA team is the only team of 2000s & 2001s that have had any major experience rolling into the fall season. There will be teams to compete we just have to wait and see, and thats what makes this division so fun. BTW these 99s that stay down in the fall "WHY".............it will serve no purpose at ALL.

I agree with Que. All the teams, coaches or parents that keep their last year 10's down are only trying to get trophies. In the long run nobody will remember what or how many 10u trophies they won. I certainly have never heard a college scout require their players to be 10u champs of anything. Let them move up and be challenged to be better or leave them down to be the "Lords of the Flies".

Ok....would someone plese explain to me what "99" means. I have seen teams listed with that number, plus some with "98" and other numbers after their name, but have never understood what it meant. Thanks....

It's the primary bithdate (somtimes exclusive) of the girls on the teams roster. For instance this years 12U division will have girls full of players with 98' and 99' birthdates. Some orginizations/teams build age pure with all 98' or 99' birthdates others have a mix. Hope this helps.
