When are the brackets for Sacto coming out. Week of metros and it's sure quiet. No predictions from anyone? Will it be the older teams that take it or a re-run of Breeze96 and LM. Who are the dark horses this year?

Draw is Wednesday night.
Who will win it? In 16's, look for Breeze with a close second/third from the All American squads.
In 14's Breeze '96 managed to cheat their way into Sac from a different metro and could wind up taking it. Lady Magic may get the Magic back and three-peat but don't count out the Breeze '95 team either.
In 12's, look for Lady Magic as well
Over-all, it could be a Lady magic / Breeze kind of year!

I just got an email from Cassie at GSSA. She said the brackets will be released tonight after the draw. They will be posted on the website late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
BTW, 16's will play Friday night at either 6 or 8. I don't know about other groups...

Didn't one of the Breeze teams luck into a bid at HOF in OKC last weekend?

It looks like only the 12's have played the HOF in OKC and with a 1-2 record, I doubt they won a berth

Breeze is a Sac team. It's the Grapettes team that some are confused about being in Sac Metros (I guess they have enough players living in Sac area). Of course Bilbao's Grapettes team has no chance at all against the other 16U Grapettes so that's why they needed to qualify for Sac Metros.

Grapettes Bilbao have a majority of players who live in the sac Metro area so they correctly registered and are competing in the Sac Metros. This is according to the rules and they are just fine.
Breeze-96s on the other hand have a majority of players in the San Joaquin (Stockton) metro area. They knew it and it's what happens when you wind up with several players from teams in a neighboring metro. At the beginning of the season, they reportedly tried to get into the Sac metro but were denied because of residency. A few weeks ago during the SJ metro board meeting, the point was raised that they were going to compete in that metro but they had not yet registered. A particular board member started a campaign against them that eventually reached the higher levels of ASA admin at which point they had completely missed the deadline to register and were not allowed in. Shortly thereafter, they appeared in the Sac Metro in spite of the rules regarding residency requirements. It's too bad because an organization with the 25 year history of Breeze has the experience to KNOW where they belong and they KNOW when monies are due but both seem to be in question this year. Apparently an org can have connections to ASA admin at higher levels and be "allowed" to circumvent the rules so as to play in a metro where they stand a better chance of winning. In the Stockton metro, they had some competition. In Sac they still do but it's a much better chance that they could win.
