ASA Tournaments and Mizuno Affiliation, is there concern??

Like what? Examples? This sounds like a political soundbite. What is it we're missing here that isn't provided elsewhere that is within the control of a TD?

I didn't think the temp fences @ Lonetree were the best solution. With no warning track there was a potential of a kid running into the fence, knocking it over, and hurting themselves. The green temp fences are better. They give way and the fence itself doesn't catch on your skin.

Other than that...I don't know what possibly you could have to complain about? If you give concrete examples we all can learn from them. Otherwise why do we care that you don't like a TD? That's a you problem.

I just asked a simple question. Can you give us specific examples of what any TD can do to better the experience for the girls or the fans? If you can't then what's the purpose of your commentary? This really isn't specific to Gary.

I was pretty clear in an improvement he or any TD can read and do what they see fit with. I'm aware that TCS attracts teams from a bigger geographical. They charge twice as much as well. They are an organization in size that is far bigger than Gary/GSSA. They can move from location to location based on the best available fields because their audience is going to travel.

In my opinion Gary does great work for the people he is serving. My experience is games run close to schedule. I still give him major props for sending people home before Sunday started in Reno May 2011 because of the snow storm. Gary is going to host local/regional teams and his product is right on the money for what he is selling. I have spoken about ten words to the guy. I bought a bucket of used balls off him. I do not know him, and have nothing to gain by saying he's doing a good job.

We would have a lot to gain from your knowledge however. It just starts with you being more specific on the issue. Instead of assuming I'm sticking up for him maybe I'm picking your brain. My life long dream is to hit the lotto. With the money build a sports complex off a major freeway with a really good BBQ restaurant very adjacent. My role would be to ride my lawn mower with a red cup holder wearing a straw hat. I just want to mow the lawn and feed people.

I am one who firmly believes that pool play should be RANDOM. I have a hard time swallowing the fact that of the 11 pools in 14U at memorial day tourney, each pool contained one of the consensus top 10 (either orgs or teams). Ironically, in 9 of those 10 pools the team in question is listed first. It just "seems" so wrong.

Let me spin this. Put Breeze98, Grapes-V, TC, Sorcerer in the same pool. One team is going to the silver division and one is going to the bronze division. That's not going to work for anyone. You would have a far bigger outcry if the Sorcerer played in the bronze bracket whoopin' on teams 25-1. Placing the Sorcerer in the bronze bracket was for illustration purposes only.

This is a downfall to tournament style ball. It would make a lot more sense to me if teams played round robin games against similar opponents more often. Maybe they do and I just don't know?
