The 12U is a special group this season...by know means are we trying to battle each other but yet trying to prepare ourselves for PGF the ultimate goal.
FYI- Salinas Storm registers in the ASA NorCal Championships (Metro) every year... So I would consider us as NorCal.

I'd hold off on listing 12U Cal Nuggets on your list of top teams. 14U-Absolutely, 12-U not so much.
They are looking to build off the success of last year's 14U team and they have certainly brought in a lot of big names and attracting more players. As James can attest, several members of his Storm 12U from last year made the move up the peninsula but that is at 14U and there were several other factors at play in fall. Not to digress, but I think it is fantastic that James is back at Storm for spring as it only makes 12s that much competitive and this is coming from a parent who has kids at organizations that have had to play his teams
12U Nuggets still in their infancy and a work in progress that has a difficult road ahead. I was shocked that they went to LV. If I was a parent on that team I would have been a little frustrated having to make that haul.
I understand Haley is trying to get the brand out there and it is great that she has non-parent coaches but that kind of journey down south seems unwise when virtually every tourney locally results in only one game being played on Sundays. There will be plenty of time to travel in 14/16/18. You need to build up to such exotic destinations as Hemet.

SALINAS STORM-JIMENEZ team has been together since January? Because of the first win in Lincoln and a top 3 finish in Vegas. You got to default them in on top. Question remains they may be peeking right now. I guess coach finds ways to win. 3 Good Pitchers. strong bats. Welcome to another 12U season.
SAN JOSE STING explosive bats, great defense, good coaching. Question remains can their pitching hold up! gotta get an early lead to beat this team. You don't want to fall in a momentum trap cause they'll keep banging. 5th in Vegas! Great job, my guess they may be top dogs in time.
OBS MONARCHS-CAT great small ball team with a good enough 1-2 punch in the circle. The trio coaching staff doesn't get better but to be successful, coaches will need to find their place. Can be a no.1 team in NorCal
LTG LIONS big bats, excellent coaching! Pitching will remain the question. Another team that could be on the top spot! This team probably has the most experience and know where they are going. Excellent program.
FOOTHILL GOLD good pitching, big bats that will hit the ball hard. Very athletic team but big bats don't work every game. They will be able to compete with the teams above. Just got to go get them. Coaching needs a plan for this team if not they will be lost in the scuffle.
CALIFORNIA BREEZE another young put together team with good coaching. A team that is putting all the right pieces together. Very athletic and pitching is ok. Breeze have the potential to be better and always putting out quality teams.
NORCAL FIRECRACKERS explosive bats as well! A team that should be top 3 throughout the season. Can't put them any higher as of yet because they had some tough games in Vegas. This team will come around.
CENCAL DIRTDOGS-HEFFLEY great team well coached and should be higher on this list. Time will tell. The birds are chirping and word out that they may have lost their no.1 pitcher. If this is untrue they should be higher if it is true then then need to get creative.
FRESNO FORCE-RODRIGUEZ very aggressive with their bats, the like to swing, pitching is ok but like everyone else the need that ace to take them to the promise land.
AASA-RICHARDSON we'll, all American good team, good small ball, got a good pitcher, but for some reason they find ways to give up games. They will be competing throughout the season and they are no lay over. If u underestimate them you will lose.
NORCAL DIRTDOGS- Gary has done a great job with this team thus far! Question remains can he keep this group consistent and competing with the top teams. A few good bats but pitching and defense wins the big games

I can agree with some of the rankings but everyone can agree that any of those teams could get hot and win it all on Sunday. What I can't agree with is ranking a team you have never seen play so I started a gamechanger group Nor Cal Top 12U. Just hit the link and check out the scores and stats of the group and if your team is not on the list just email me and I'll add them. This should make these discussions even more entertaining!

I definitely agree with Uncle's rankings. That #1 spot is between San Jose Sting and Salinas Storm- Jimenez. There head to head game on Sunday will determine whose the best thus far. Last time they played each other Sting came out explosive and shut out Storm completely. Jimenez and Noriega are both very good coaches and have their teams very disciplined offensively and defensively. Noriega was a former Sting player and I am very impressed with what she has done with this team. Every year it seems as if she loses some players but gains better and better talent each season. Noriega being a younger coach seems to work in her favor, I am sure the girls can relate a lot to her from her personal experiences. Jimenez had a stud 00 team last year that showed themselves in both Nor Cal and So Cal. This year he has put together another strong squad, not surprised though. A sign of a great coach is being able to turn good players in to great players. Very exciting game to watch, now the question is who will come out on fire come Sunday.
