Fall Fees and non profit questions

The why are you there? Did you not know what you were getting yourself into? When I started the Monarchs that was one of the reasons. I have max limits of 14 players on the 16u and 18g teams for a reason.

Our fees are not even close to that, and our players will get innings. Plus, they get my coaching at 16u which is decent.

So looking at your info I see the team.

Goes back to my original post. Teams can charge whatever they want, and YOU the parents have to decide if it is worth it. Seeing the success they have had, and the fact they have no shortage of players, Id say some people think it is worth it.

I doubt if you were lied to or misled in regards to anything they told you. So if you are unhappy with fees or number of players on roster, and you went to the team, how can you blame anyone but yourself??? Im not being a jerk, asking a serious question.

I don't want to sound mean but comparing an org who may, or may not, be non profit to buying a car is pretty asinine. What
are you trying to achieve here? Does what the org who may, or not, be non profit make mean more to you then how much your DD is developing by playing? My instant thought is your DD may not be getting the playing time in the position you want her to play. If this is the case you should leave instead of do something like this. Unfortunately I have seen people do stuff like this because they didn't get what the wanted without thinking of he consequences of them running their unhappy mouths.

I hope you find what you are looking for without doing more damage then you anticipated. Again, I don't want to be mean, this is just my opinion.

The roster was finally posted today and I don't have anywhere else to go. I cant drive my daughter out of San Jose to Tracy or Concord so I just deal with it. I am asking this question because I want to know if others are putting up with the same issues else where.

So let me get this straight. You want to leave a team because it's not a non-profit and you're worried someone might be making a profit off a service they provide to your DD?

If you're simply looking for a tax deduction, there are all kinds of 501c3 charities that will accept your donation.

I just don't want the IRS shutting them down and I lose my fees and my DD has no team for the fall.

Lopez, you are very resourceful and in truth, you seem to have more answers than questions, almost as if you have experience with running a business or bookkeeping yourself.

For the sake of your DD's fall fastpitch enjoyment and the betterment of the org she plays for, you might want to contact the org's treasurer and let them know the risks you have uncovered in their accounting controls and procedures.

If not, remember fall season goes by fast and IRS investigations are slow. Your daughter is sure to get plenty of games in before the season is ended.

NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY that is running teams or an organization wants to hear from parents on anything other than something that is in direct concern with your kid.

Stuff like you will be out of town on such a date, she needs some new pants etc,.

Almost every person running things that I know in this area has been doing so for some time. So why are they gonna want to listen to someone try to tell them how they should be doing things. If it doesnt work for you, the Fall season will go by fast enough and you leave. It is that simple.


I remember hearing one longtime Gold coach telling parents at a meeting. "If you arent happy, dont mutiny, just jump ship. We will keep on sailing without you."

I love that line.


Try to go over to PM and give him some input and see how he responds...lol.
