Indeed there were some upsets in a few areas, the Grapes vs.Sharks was one no doubt. But in all reality, this was the silver bracket, 8th-14th place in the tourney. Almost as irrelevant as the winner of the Blue bracket. The only upset was Breeze over Sting in the Championship game. All the other wins on Sunday were to be expected at this point from those teams. Missed the Sting vs. AASA game but what details I got Sting #1 threw it, done. Sting played it like it was the personal Championship. Breeze beat Stars after both winning thier morning opponents. Lady Magic vs. Sting looked like another upset in tune but Sting had their #1 on ice and came in and shut em down after winning on the ITB run. Breeze #1 vs. Sting#2 went well until they figured her out, Sting #1 came in hot and fresh but too late. Great weekend for both teams and just in time.

The rankings will show a few teams dropping for inconsistancy and a couple leaping to the top for their newly found consistancy behind thier pitchers.

Don't want to but will, hate hearing others ping in with senseless shouts for thier teams. The girls are working hard on all teams so this goes without saying, they are improving and having fun.

1-Sorcerer, just for the fact that they are tough. D, Pitching, Hitting, Slapping, Running!
2-Sting, #1, #2 and #3 are tough to get by, getting the D down now and new lead-off hitter, all bats are banging.
2-Breeze 97, Yes, beat Sting but I'm not convinced they are better. Have strong #1 but that's it. Strong but can be beat. Big hitters and great D
2-Lady Magic, got beat by Sting yeah but don't count them out, tough through and through. Deep Pitching and some big BIG bats.
5-AASA, can compete with the two above when things are clicking, great team, bad Monday
6-Grapettes-SN, Another fluky Monday, play better than what they did and they know it, look for a rebound and hope it is not your team next that they come out to prove it on. Will be back in #1-2-3 in two weeks.
7-Hotshots, had a tough weekend but play better than they did in the RR, still belong in top 10
8-Strikkers, figure out a way to win, Coaching is the key on this team.
8-SB Stars, looked shakky in a few different games, just a bad weekend, will bounce back. Good coaching behind them and some good talent. Will rebound asap.
8-SJ Renegades, playing good right now, lost a key player, not deep enough to fill void.

Will most likely prove me wrong, Outlaws, Rockets and Krush. Either of these could knock out the 3-8's above with the right moves.


Don't bash me, just how I see em right now.

to Ham...like the insight. Couple things though that popped into my head. I think Breeze beat Sting the last time they played them in Stockton too. Also, Breeze had a pitcher that threw early in the day who was also good....not as strong as that #1, but can beat most teams.

Who knows who is number 1,2,3,4....hard to say. They are 12 so consistency throughout an entire tourney can be tough, and even tougher for an entire summer. Just good to see some strong teams in that final day.

I think that with Sting, Breeze, Lady Magic, and a couple of others like Storm and the Sorcerers....any of them can be a #1 on any given day.

Man, I am loosing it today! I can not beleive I left out Storm...where is the delete button on this thing???

Move em all down a notch and boot SJ Renegades from the list putting Storm in the 2 slot with the other 3 that are there.

I catch your drift on the Breeze "other" pitcher, she is not bad, not as powerful as their #1 but sure, I agree. Thanks for pointing that out.

Think Breeze did beat Sting once before, close game riddled with errors on the Sting side, different team now. Breeze still tough and was already consistent. Sting gained the consistency.

Lady Magic same deal, they have other cards in the deck behind their #1 as well.

Did some diggin around to find out where the U 12 97 Sorcerers played this weekend ,, they didn't... Found out thier #1 threw for Kiko a couple of innings againts the Fresno Force U 16 and did pretty good ...

The 12U #1 did pitch well, however she didn't pitch against Fresno Force. The 14U #1 and #2 split that game I believe.

Sorcerers didn't play this weekend couldn't see paying 700$ to play a couple of good teams on Monday, hams bracket could still be off without the storm in it, think lady magic could still be in top 3 if they made a better selection on the starting pitching don't think sting should be ranked that high but does have a good leadoff now which is big on any team for your lead off to get on. Sorcerer still need to play out here to see where they stand.

RR Modesto Gold ended up exactly like most would have wanted it to. There were 5 that belonged there and a few others got a rough ride into the Silver and Bronze that would have been nice to see them in the gold.

By the end of the Gold finals it was Sting and Breeze who were still there as the sun was setting. Both teams managed to play with the needed consistency for the long haul of the 9-10 games. Congrats to the Breeze for holding off the hot Sting bats that have proven to have "awaken" as well as their much needed defense.

The Gold Bracket was no walk in the park with the best the tournament had to offer, AASA, Lady Magic, Sting and Breeze.

Does Sting belong up this high in the 2 spot, yes they are getting things figured out. Can they compete with the others in the top 5, Yes.

AASA, Sting, Lady Magic and Breeze head to head will be a close down to the wire game on any given Sunday. These 4 I feel all could easily share the role in the 3 slot on the rankings behind Storm and then Sorcerer on top.

The bottom line, these girls on all of the teams out there are working and improving regardless of the hogwash we throw on this post.

Looking forward to playing Storm soon.
