Hitting: tip & myth of the week

by ssarge » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:26 pm

She agreed with your assessment and said that she has seen many coaches incorrectly translate this ideal that Enquist taught (to elite athletes) as "PUSH through contact".

Really interesting, thanks!

Best regards,

triplecrown wrote:Greg, you have probably far exceeded what you had hoped for when you first started this thread, you have been able to attract some very knowledgeable hitting people to join in your discussion, trust me these guys are in a whole different galaxy than you and if you plan on continuing giving instruction I would embrace their comments and ask for more and NOT bite their throats as if they are challenging you, as the way I read it they are just providing information, geeeez good luck...

ROTFLMAO! all "I" was doing was providing information, geeeze. I disagree with your point of view triplecrown!
I wasn't looking for information or advice, so I wasn't hoping for anything. I was just posting hitting tips, no more- no less. Anybody could take them or leave them, its totally up to the reader. Now what I've encountered, contrary to what you might think, is good ole fashioned disagreement with some of my posts. Along with the attitude that I'm wrong and if I disagree with an opposing opinion, something is wrong with me. This is one of the reasons that people won't post on forums because they're afraid someone will castigate their opinion. And, they're right!

I didn't mean to bite anyone's throats, but I'll be damned if I am going to agree just to keep the peace. I'd sooner stop posting than to bow down to the more popular or more experienced posters. Just because you disagree doesn't mean you're uncivil...

Sorry to say it, but this isn't one person's hitting website, its heybucket, and you don't have to subscribe to any particular hitting philosophy to be a member. At least I don't think so? I didn't read that in the terms and conditions...

Great organizations are great because they have solid coaching, a good fundamental approach, they know the game & how to teach it, and because they attract the best talent.
Not because they teach a particular hitting philosophy!

With 12-15 inch sweet spots on composite bats, a coach could teach just about anything to elite ahtletes and get positive results.

I'm not here to argue, just to offer tips to those who want them. Obviously not everyone!

Have fun!

Tip of the week: PMA!

43 feet will help hitters who believe it!

Some say the extra 3 feet won't make a difference?

I think it will if,
hitters think it will
hitters stay back
and hitters track the ball properly.
imo

Whenever hitters can see the ball longer, good things happen!
Good hitters see the ball out of the pitcher's hand.
If you think it will, it will!

Have fun!!!

*disclaimer: this post is intended for anyone who wants it, if you disagree, so be it...Jerry Brown is still Governor.

I certainly missed that objective. Based on your 2nd post in this thread, I though you were marketing your services.

My bad.
