Anyways, for this one, a friend sent me this story about the coach putting the $25 hit on his poor player back when it happened.
When I read this post, it's the first thing I thought of.
Google did the rest...I googled "coach takes out hit on player". There was a ton of articles about it. Proves the "truth is stranger than fiction" theory.

I'm just not sure how he figured out which kid to hit. Before my son played T-ball, I thought he might be autistic and developmentally disabled. Then we had our first practice, and I figured he got put on the team with all of the autistic and developmentally disabled kids. Then we had our first few games and thought "there are certainly a lot of autistic and developmentally disabled kids in this league". After playing everyone, I figured out this was probably just normal behavior for young boys, and they would probably grow out of it. Then I saw the older boys at picture day.

My daughter (12U) was playing in a tourney in Yuba City last summer. After a controversial play the pitcher took a long look at the coach in dugout and then nailed by daughter in the arm, breaking her elbow. We'll never know if the pitch was called, but it looked fishy.
