I sure hope my kid never wins an ASA national if that's what it does to them. I can't get mine to shut up about the trips and experiences, not that I would want her to. Each his own, I suppose.

Well, since CW's daughter is currently still playing college ball, she is probably more focused on winning an NCAA Championship right now. I can tell you first hand that while these kids are playing college ball they don't have any time or desire to focus on the good old days of travel ball, no matter how well they finished. Right now that hill has been climbed and is behind them, with a new, bigger hill ahead. It's not that they don't care about where they've been, rather they are still focused on where they are going! I promise you that when all is said and done, the pride of that accomplishment will shine through in the years and decades ahead!

I understand the "in college now" and "moving on" concept but that is not the way I took it. This is what was said...

As in...never was brought up since it was won. That's just hard for me to believe...Also implying that the kid thought less of it than the parents. I don't think that would be true for most. Maybe I'm wrong or maybe I just misunderstood.

From the comments, it seems like ASA is where you will find the better teams. I just learned about Premier. Any info on that organization?

Play close to home, sleep in and enjoy your weekends, take a nice softball trip once a year, when she's ready, if ever, to play college level, then look at a few college showcases....PFG, ASA or TCS or whatever...

Enjoy watching her play at whatever level. If she plays college ball...in four years it will all be over, as in OVER! Then she has to find a real job. When she graduates...no one will care where and when she played. All you'll care about is when and will she find a job, who's the a-hole dude she hanging out with, and "did I pay for that tattoo?".
