R R Gold tournament this weekend

I think Kiko has a combination of a few things at this stage of the season, and one of them is very talented 8th graders. Once the HS kids roll in, the landscape will change in 14's, Kiko will still be good, but you will see different faces and even different teams you have not seen yet playing. In LA they have teams that are ALL HS kids that have not even played a game yet. Locally, I dont think (Grapettes-Reid) has played a game, he is coaching HS ball and has a mix of HS kids on his team, they will give Kiko everything he can handle, they have two VERY good HS pitchers that both play Varsity and do well, and several others, so we will see what happens..

They had a little trouble setting up the hitting nets because of the wind.

The SJ sting have a pitcher that can shut ANYONE down. Her team will be all together soon.

But in reality, there are very few teams up north that can beat Kiko's team.On any given day, anything can happen, but consistently play with them??????

Our team will be ok, but we will struggle just in our own little association... so we will see what happens:)

As commented previously, the Breeze did give them more trouble than the batting nets. They got a runner at second with no outs in back to back innings, but stellar defense quelch both opportunities. You would be very challenged to find a better infield, now or after the H.S. players get back. In four tournaments (approx 28 games) they have yielded a total of four runs to three teams.
Teams of note, OC Batbusters, Kryptonite, Team Smith, Breeze 96, Salinas Storm, Fresno Force, Nuggets, and SoCal Athletics have all gone down to the Sorcerers. Lady Magic and Sting were in Fresno classic but didn't make it past the quarters.

If there is a weakness to the team it's scoring runs. Three power hitters and two pitchers will be added to the lineup when the H.S. players return.

Putting things into perspective, yes there are some older teams that have not played a game, yes some teams will get stronger, but will it be enough? All these questions will make for an excitinig summer of softball. Will they stay at 14U or move up and play 16U? I think it may be a better move for them to opt up and play down to qualify.

I think that if you have not had a chance to watch this team play you need to.

Im sorry, but that makes me chuckle a little:)

It wasnt stellar defense, it is just their normal defense. Good teams just play that way all the time, and the other teams just look at that and say they were remarkable plays.

in fresno the sting pitcher actually gave up a lot fo runs on saturday and they lost by a lot in one the games that she pitched.
