Ditto heads got so angry at women that supported Bill Clinton they wanted to repeal the 19th amendment. The original conservative argument during the time of suffrage was one family one vote. A girl gets married than her husband does the voting, if she never marries then she never leaves home and her father cast the votes. It seems ridiculous today , but 100 years ago it probably made some sense. Many on the right still believe it should be that way.

Yep, this country was doing great. Then women got the vote, and look where we are now. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I seriously LOL'd at that statement, and I don't do that very often.

Here's a nice idea from Mr. Obama...

Hold on a second GIMNE! I didn't see anyone else agreeing with this statement so please don't lump us all together. And I didn't see any reference to race made so please don't play the race card.

G, I stand by what I said. I dont believe someone should have the right to vote - to vote for those that then shovel out entitlement monies - unless they can show proof of their own employment via W-2 or a tax return, exceptions being over 65 or disabled.

It makes no sense - none - to have people who have lived off the tit for generations to have the right to vote for those that keep pumping that tit.

I have a dd who came out of the service, injured but recovered, considered healthy by the service and by anyone with common sense, but divorced with a child. She started work - then was injured in a car accident, (her fault), went back to work before she should have, we helped her with groceries, a place to live, etc. she qualified for and applied for food stamps, had another car accident within 2 years, same story, but got on her feet, kept working. She had a job, got laid off twice, worked for me driving a tractor, but never stopped heading forward. Through all this, she had w-2s and tax returns showing she worked. I dont think people who have had to do what she did should be excluded from voting. To me, thats what assistance is for, not a way of life.

okay ... lets create some fake a scenario's ;

... child born into poverty ... through no fault of their own since poverty is twice now what it was 8 years ago ... their father ain't worth sh*t ... in jail, burden on the system ... mother is a fu*kin crack head ... (although the mother & fathers parents lived through and survived extreme hardships, they still turned out not worth sh*t )... but, somehow ... this kid takes on the true American spirit of the Grandparents and works like a freakin dog in school to overcome overwhelming odds ... Class President, Editor of the HS newspaper, turns 18 in HS and could be the next Abe Lincoln ... oops! no W2, no tax return, can't vote ... okay ... student exemption .... Lets start there ...

Although there are always people who will abuse the system, there are just as many that need the help ... do we cancel the system?, or police it better ?, or change it? ... I don't know the answers ... but, by your method Donnie, a Mountain Man living off the land can't come out of the woods to vote unless he worked nights at Wally World ...

Also Donnie, I know some of your DD's story from our PMs ... and I'm glad that you were there to help her ... but lets say for instance, similar scenario but you weren't there ... young kids... veteran ... even able to work but can't ... temporary assistance has its place in this country ... and if your DD needed temporary assistance and this was an election year, is she any less of an American ... I'm not gonna be the one to tell her THAT! ... I believe that people confuse temporary assistance with milking the system ,... just like they confuse 'illegals' with immagrants ... but in any event, if it is the law, be it right or wrong, that our government is handing out welfare checks ... you really can't have the stipulation: 'If you cash this check you are no better than a convicted felon' ... or can you ?

G, it is a mean cruel world, no doubt about it. But hard decisions need to be made - but I do NOT want people voting that have to be bussed into the polls because a) they are too lazy to get off their ass to go to the polls, b) they are so out of touch that they dont know where the polls are. I dont want people voting because thats the way they can ensure that the entitlement tit keeps getting pointed their way. But this will never happen because if it did, democrats would never win another election.

I'm too toasted and tired to look up the facts right now ... but, I'm going to guess at distances and locations ... In the Mid West ... there are Native Americans living in extreme poverty in very rural areas ... and I think, the nearest polling places are a 100 miles away ... they have no vehicles, no money and according to you, no country ... as I remember, they are offered bus service to the polling place on one day, take it or leave it ...
And you are right ... there are people that the more government tit they get the more they want and more they expect ... I am not defending them ... BUT, if our governemnt gives them money, and they are entitled to it ... how can you say that they are not entitiled to vote ? ... Convicted Felons lose their 2nd ammendment right and the right to vote ...now if they were cheats ? ... I'm not sure if defrauding the government is a felony, probably so ...
