Ive lived in CA...matter of fact, started School there in 1st grade...Lancaster...Sunny something or other school I think...learned that tumbleweeds burn FAST....remember Mom vacuuming thorn, burr things off me...I was covered head to toe..Mom worked at Edwards AFB...
Oldest Brother went and saw the play 'Hair' at its original showing...back in the 60's..Then we moved to Abilene TX, at Dyess AFB...
People out there last summer, were amused by my *slight* accent...(barely noticeable)...and besides automatically deducting 15 points from my IQ...I enjoyed seeing their reaction to my politeness...except at 1st gas stop we made in CA...not sure where...Got hit up for money 3x at one stop...Never seen that many homeless folks in a square quarter mile in my life...and yall...NEVER make fun of Rednecks houses again....we drove I-10 / I-8....I know where campers go to retire...whole communities of campers....
I love the So Cal weather...but to many people out there for me...
Although I did enjoying doing my best Dale Earnhardt impression last summer running 130 in traffic out there at PGF...that was on PCH between Huntington Beach Newport Beach btw
...bad thing is everyone else was doing 140...and we all stop for an hour in cadence...and not unlike New Orleans and Houston...using your blinkers (turn signals for Yankees) only shows weakness and vulnerability ...
Drove a GSA car once thru rush hour traffic in Dallas...rev limiter on my GSA Olds Achieva was 105 mph....had it matted...people were passing me like I was in reverse...was using my best Scottish accent quoting Mr Scott on Star Trek..."Im giving her all shes got Captain"...
