Personnel costs are a killer, especially when many state and federal agencies are more than 50% overstaffed. But, the government's job is to grow itself, even in small towns.

While I can't say to an absolute certainty there exists some secret chamber where all the wealthiest and powerful convene to determine the fate of the world, I *do* recognize that the politics of division is also the business of division.

It's a complex relationship between the power elite and 'us' (us = those with a net worth less than about $10 million), but we'll be forever ruled by the fringes so long as we continue overvaluing emotion and undervaluing common sense.

There's a lot more to this discourse, but in addition to developing critical thinking and reasoning skills, we must also learn to focus on the money. But if you've visited a cross-section of American schools and churches, you'll understand why those skills are lacking.

Step 1: Understand how human beings think and then look at your own thinking. And knowing what you don't know isn't a bad thing.
