The problem is not "freeloaders"- since it is retirees. The problem is that the administration instead of trying to manage costs properly- it decided to just cut what it was willing to pay. Therefore it was no longer economically viable for Drs to take on new patients, They tried to take the easy way out.

Really wish they had tried to adapt the Japanese medical system. It costs half of what we pay(per person) They go to the DR and hospital 2-3 times more frequently than we do and they have the longest lifespan on the planet. It is a mix of Private/corporate providers and a government plan for the elderly, poor, and small businesses to small to handle the cost. They use a board made up of Doctors, nurses, pharma, and government to determine price ranges that are fare to all. They avoided the bureacracy of the European plans and the crippling cost of the American system

Your 'matter of fact' ignorance never ceases to amaze. The Medicaid system is not for retirees and in fact, is rife with fraud to the tune of $billions wasted per year....facilitated by a partnership between corrupt doctors and "freeloaders".

The Obama plan is to eliminate the doctor from your healthcare plan, only and unless you really, really need one and are willing to wait weeks or months to see one. The nurse practitioner or physician assistant will be your new provider under Obamacare.

The Japanese model works only because they don't have fat people...and they are quick to pull the plug when you're in your 70's and 80's and the diagnosis isn't peachy keen.

I was talking about medicare

Medicaid is is State run program partially financed by the Feds

Medicade may have issues with fraud- Drs are avoiding new patients because of payment levels

There are "fat" Japanese and they do not pull the plug on their elders(they actually respect them over there)

The Oboma admin is stuck on the French/european model. Works alot like an infirmary. Great for primary basic care, tends to have shortages of Drs, is a nightmare for any kind of elective surgeries. The best argument aginst socialized medicine is my parent. My father was in the Navy stationed in San Diego. They chose to have me born at a private hospital because of their experiences with the Base Hospital and the socilaized medicine in the military. Anyone who has served understands what I mean. The other example against are VA hospitals- it is scary how some of tehm are and a disgrace.

I think we need serious fixes to our Medical Services in the US and an ability to be more efficient and to serve all. The ramming down the throat of Obomacare was not the right answer
