We resisted for a long time ... Then, for a Fathers Day the DD's chipped in ... I still don't watch much TV ... BUT, the advantage of DTV is the MLB package ... Combine that with a DVR and there is always a baseball game on TV ...

...we have it...expensive...Biggest reason we have DVR, BESIDES STUPID teeny bopper shows...We DVR a BUNCH of softball games in the Spring....

No cable tv here. I got fed up with the rate hikes and having to call and renegotiate every few months. Several months ago we put up a new antenna tower. We have plenty of digital channels and no more bill. I thought we might miss it but we have never looked back. We do use netflix and hulu which remains very inexpensive.

I have a few options for the cable games.

1. Watch it at the pub over a beer.
2. Find it online on espn, etc.
3. Walk next door with a six pack and watch it on my neighbor's 70" HD
4. Go old skewl and catch it on radio. Example: It's hard to beat listening to Marty Brenneman calling a Reds game. Even when they are on tv, I prefer to turn down the sound and listen to the radio broadcast.

Cheers!

PS: I have never had a cell phone contract 'plan' either, nor has anyone in my household. $80, $100, $149.95 per month? Let's see...what does that come to per annum? NO THANKS! I'll continue to buy minutes for dirt cheap. FREEDOM MERICA! Lol!
