At What Point in the Fall Should We Give Up Fielding a Team?

It's Sept 9th...still need 2 players...when should the coach let the girls go to other teams?

only 7 players on Sep 9th. Tough one. You didn't mention age group or level of play. A team can probably pickup players through the season but that's a tough thing to do in the Fall with the other sports girls play in Fall. Some players are probably still out there looking for homes but they are getting scarce for sure.
My daughter is perfect, she knows everything. Just ask her.

I agree...what Age Group? And are you guys playing up getting prepared for next spring? or are you just trying to make for your current Fall Age Group?

Also what is the talent level like? do the 7 girls you have all resembel a rec team (coach is desperate for players for his DD to play Select) or are 5 studs and 2 maybes...

At this point with the try outs complete and most teams with their rosters full, I would recommend 1 of 2 options to try.

1) Talk to other teams who are having the same problem and see if the 2 teams can be combined to make 1.

2) Call other coaches and see if you can place your girls on any of the teams, at least until spring, then you can attempt tryouts again.

This is all about the girls and giving them the chance to play. I think I would recommend option 1. This gives the most girls the chance to play.
