Define a Trophy Hunting Team!

by SftballTarzan » Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:01 pm

I have heard many teams called Trophy Hunter Teams for many reasons. How would you define a Trophy Hunter?

How about a select team coach that lies to a TD to enter an Allstar tournament???? Remember, it is always the coach, never the team who is the trophy hunter. IMHO

I have seen that a few times. If all ASA Regions did the points like they are supposed to that wouldn't happen as often.
Also, The TD's are getting where they just want to have the tourney make to prevent refunding.

All you have to do is check out a few "B" tourneys on VTD and look at the history of the teams winning and some team have 1st and 2nd place ribbons on almost every tourney unless they play up a few tourneys. Those are trophy hunters.

Point system sucks no one utilizes it in ASA, wish they would.

Teams that don't play up after ASA is finished in August. You know, those second year 12u teams still playing 12u in November and December.

Any coach who only complains that the teams that beat them should not have played in the tournament 8-) and that if this was the case they would have automatically taken 1st place I'm just saying ;)

Now that is a class act team. lol

I just can't understand why coaches wouldn't play up in Fall. It just makes the team better and more prepared.

A team who consistently plays the sisters of the poor every weekend... When they get up against a very good team they will not know how to handle the pressure.
