Texas 14u ASA Nationals Qualified Teams

Here is a list of teams qualified for 14u ASA Nationals at Marietta, GA:

Are these teams still eligible to compete in the Regional Qualifier in Katy, if they wanted to do so?

If so, kind of a mixed bag of thoughts. The assumption is these are the better teams, since they have qualified. Not saying anything derogatory about teams not on that list, but generally speaking it follows suit. So, if they are allowed to compete they could knock out a team not yet qualified (as opposed to "unqualified"). A bad draw and somebody is going home earlier than if those teams weren't there. On the other hand, you'll have to play them in Georgia so what's the big difference? No absolute answer there.

Just curious, if anyone knows the answer to whether they can play or not once qualified.

If you want to sacrifice your qualification for ASA Nationals your more than welcome to play in Regionals. Based on some of the close scores in some of the qualifying tournaments you would be an idiot to do that. The qualified team may knock out a few others but their arrogance may come back to haunt them and leave them at home in late July.

Put together a round robin that weekend with the qualified teams and you can talk and laugh about all the weak teams at Regionals...its much safer that way.

i would assum that there are several scrimmages and friendlies in the future for those teams on the above list, but definately no more qualifiers
