The Top 5 I've seen and this is not my age group are: They are in no particular order:

1. Lefty for TPS
2. Righty for TPS
3. Big girl for Rip
4. Righty for Sting
5. Lefty for Lady Stros

I could be wrong again like I said this not my age group but when I saw these girls throw they made me stop and watch.

Any one of the girls at this age that can work the corners and hit the change up for a strike has a big advantage. Add a good catcher to the mix helps improves the strike ratio also. Dont forget an umpire that has a consistant zone has an effect on the game, but it really comes down to confidence and control. At this age those that don't walk batters get the mound time.

TPS has the best one two punch in 10u. If one of the two struggle they have another to bring in to finish that is just as good. I would think that would be a great luxury to have as a coach. There are some # one's out there that could challenge either one of TPS's pitchers but don't have the back up relief that TPS possesses at this point in the season.

I would agree on the quality of pitching on the top teams, and TPS does have the best overall pitching staff among the 10u teams. You cannot stop there. I have seen teams with great pitching lose because they did not have the defense to compliment the pitching or there hitting was not there. Great teams have good pitiching, good defense and good hitting. At this time in the season I feel that is what seperates TPS from the other teams. All of that is working for them right now. That is why they can step up in a 12u tournment and win it. I know the big 12u teams were not there but TPS performed. Can the other 10u teams catch up as Hammer predicts???? Time will tell. I love to see all the teams improve. Thats indicates that the girls are being taught how to play the game by their coaches and their skills are improvings, because remember we are in this for the girls!!! not for ourselves.

I look back to the Bomber with some of the best teams there. The Hammer is correct with his statement. TPS Overall is a well ballanced team pitching, defense and hitting. Texas Blaze is a preety good team as well but only saw one pitcher who stood out. There defense is pretty sound and so is there offense. Texas RIP also has only one solid pitcher. I heard that she hit a player and broke her arm. Not sure what team it was. That is some serious speed. They have a great defense that can perform when needed and there offense can hold with the best of them. Texas Glory has 3 pitchers now. The new girl is equal or better than the pitcher that left. They have a good defense and offense to help out as well. Sting has a good pitcher as well. Defense pretty sound and hitting is good. Lady Stros and Lady Rage 98 as well, both good teams that can contend. These are all very good teams that can display great athletic abilities for there age. All could represent Texas well at Nationals. One more thing Catchers were mentioned. All these teams have great catchers that can perform for there pitchers. A good catcher can also make a big difference. These catchers are doing a great job. Not to take anything away from the other 7 players behind the pitcher because they are a big part as well. All coaches should be proud of how great these girls have become. Good luck with the rest of the season to all.

I would agree the girl from Rip has got some serious speed, fastest I have ever seen in 10U. She just need to be consistent weekend after weekend. 98 Glory does seem to have a solid defense but unless they just recently added a new pitcher I don't believe they have replaced the girl that left yet. That kid will be a hoss in a few years. It will be fun to watch her new team build around her.

I still believe TPS is the team to beat, but there are a few teams that will get the best of them on any given day.

It's very hard to stay consistent when you're playing 10U one weekend, then 12U the next, then back to 10U the week after that. That 98 Glory Team is very well coached and they have a lot of talented players but the pitching isn't anything to write home about.

There are a few more 10 teams that have good pitching, 98 Texas Crush and the 98 Pearland Panthers both have good pitching. I have seen all of the teams mentioned above have a really bad weekend, so with that being said.... Its anybodys weekend!

there are alot of good pitchers in 10u but I just hope that they all last...some of the fathers - especially - are way way hard on these little girls and most will be burned out before they have a chance to make it to high school!
