Aces Express charging $50 Tryout Clinic Fee?

by Vice » Mon Jul 29, 2013 12:48 pm

Speaking of doing if for money! I hope they at least have some college coaches for instruction but I'm not holding my breath.

I think that is ridiculous to charge a fee for some one to try out

They have been doing it for years out in Cali. for a whole lot more money that is non refundable. It sure cuts down on players coming out that have no chance what so ever in making the team and just doing it for the experiance. You get only the ones that truly feel they can make it and contribute to the team. Sounds like a win win to me.

I have personally never been a part of it only been told from other parents from Cali. while sitting around at the Bolder tournement. They may have been pulling my leg. I wish I would have asked what team but did not sorry. The parents acted like it was the norm there. If it is not and only a myth then I stand corrected. Still don't see it as being a bad thing for the reasons I stated earlier tho.

I guess I missed the flock of people lining up to tryout for Aces. That is the funniest thing I have heard on this board in a while. Even the best organizations in Texas don't charge a fee. You people never seem to amaze me. Keep it classy Aces Express. Please let us know how that works out for you

I don't think they really give a cats rats ass what you think. If you don't like it don't try out. I don't see anyone holding a gun to you're head. From what I have seen the last few years this is a great up and comeing team with ouside the box thinking coaches that push the envelope every chance they get. They must be doing something right every team in the organization made it to nationals.

Per the AE website, they are having a tryout and clinic. The $50 is for a clinic fee. Maybe its just semantics but that is what it says.
