elite showcase tournaments in the dallas area usually bring in a broad spectrum of coaches from tx. d1-d3 combined with naia and jc coaches.

fRITO bURRITO KNOWS HIS TUFF, DATS FER SURE!! SOMETIMES I JUST DONT KNOW HOW TO RIGHT.

The main thing is to make sure the college coaches that you and your dd are interested in know when and where she is playing. Build it and they will come....

Are you kidding me? Last year the Ronald McDonald16u had at least 35 colleges including the following:
Georgia
LSU
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Alabama
Texas
Florida
University of Houston
Okahoma
and others

The Top Schools but the # of teams excepted in this age group is at a minimum. So don't wait to sign up. At Impact/Sudden Impact 16U game I saw Alabama, Oklahoma, ULL, Texas, oh hell you get the picture. All the Big schools were there to watch.

I wasn't there this year but I would be betting on it. RMD 16u is where DD1's recruiting adventure started.

Edited to add: But the reason there were big school coaches at our game was because our opponent had visited a big school and personally requested that the coaches come watch them play. And they surely did. My experience with college coaches were that if you asked them to come watch you and you gave the times and places, they would come by and at least take a look. The rest - is up to you.

is there a big difference in college scouts between 16U and 18U? Our pitching coach told us there are more scouts at the 16U showcases than the 18U. is that true?

No secret, colleges come to games where you invite them. Obviosly, it does not hurt to have a name like Ronald McDonald where they are use to coming to the 18u. My DD played in 16 and 18 when she was older. In 18, there is obviously over 200 so they are everywhere, 16u in the last few years has become much better. You still have to make the calls to get them to your field. Being at one complex helps.
